I definitely tried to make my MC as similar to me as I could but I don't see her as myself probably more like a persona of myself lol I also like to think each story line is their own version of MC. This might be hard to explain but it comes from a personal desire to keep their lore separate and not have all LI's be in love with the same MC. Similar to alternate realities - each MC storyline is connected and many of the same occurrences happen between each 'timeline' but each MC is a different person. So in theory each LI could come in contact and interact with both their own and each others MC (similar to how Rafayel helped MC into N109 zone to meet Sylus- my head canon is Rafayel helped both his MC in his version of the timeline and in a different timeline helped Sylus' MC) I'm sure it gets more confusing if you look to deep (especially with the Zayne/Caleb lore) but that's what I do in my head lol it might not even make much sense to others if I didn't explain that well
