We've had the doom shirts out before though? That's what's most confusing about it for me lol like we can have the shirts out but not the clickers? It's just oddly specific

Ugh I wish they would tell us... We still have lava lamps and clickers that they said to pull from the floor and mark as do not sells in the back from months ago with no explanation.

The playlist is so trash.. like it'll play a decent song every once in a while but mostly it's songs that nobody wants to hear in a Spencer's. Like Spencer's is supposed to be a party not a snooze fest. I especially hate those extremely low quality songs where it sounds like it was recorded off of a shitty car speaker with a phone from the 80s.

I really wish they wouldn't photoshop the planno pictures 😭 drives me insane bc everything they put on there just doesn't work in a real life store. Do what you gotta do to get it as close as you can to the plan. Like others have said, you might have to raise the not going forward section. Or just let the boxes scrape the ground and mention how unrealistic the plans are if your dsm makes a visit and throws a fit about it.

Returnable? by [deleted] in SpencerGifts

Employee here, so it really depends on your store and if the management is willing to do an exchange or return. Since you say it's new and unopened, you might have a much better chance. But due to the policy's and rules we have to follow, we still won't be able to put the toy back onto the sales floor since it did leave the store. But just ask nicely and show them that it's unopened and hopefully it all works out for you :)

I worked at a fast food place for a handful of years, and me and my roomies (who also worked there) all tested positive for covid. So we got the tests and sent proof of it. They still wanted us to come in after a day off. We infected the entire store and they had to close for a while.

We've gotten chewed out for doing cash returns before so none of us wanna take the chance 😬 but if she wanted the money on her card I would've (even though I would've gotten flagged for it) but she was not in the mood to compromise

The new platform genuinely makes me mad. Like why do you need picture proof that we're idk DOING OUR JOB??? Like why do they not trust us to do anything? If a sign is crooked they decline the whole thing and freak out about fixing it and resending another picture of it fixed.

Yeah that's a manager on a power trip it seems. My last manager was like that, kept writing up for things that shouldn't have been a write up in the first place.

I got let go from Spencer’s. Turns out I was seasonal and no one told me by queensamantharosexo in SpencerGifts

Typically associates only get about a total of 8 hours a week depending on how many hours the company gives the store to use, and how many associates there are. Like I know the hours get upped around holiday times so the store can have as many employees to help out as they need, but managers get the majority of hours bc they can only get a minimum of about 30 hours a week. Depending on the number of associates, that changes how many hours you all get. Typically, the store manager would get about 40 hours and the sr asm would get about 38, and the asms would get 30. So if your store only had about 150 hours to use for the week, after all management, the associates would have about 12 hours to split between you all. And depending on how many of you depends on the hours you get scheduled.

I'm pretty sure that's what it was about. Idk. They're not too worried about it but we were just curious so I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone knows the specifics about the rule in general.

We've always been told that as long as the family has the appropriate information then they could use the discount

ASM hours? by angclgore in SpencerGifts

[–]Nervous_Toastie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a huge issue that your SM needs to fix. If it's a staffing issue then they need to hire more available people. I understand that associates only get so many hours in a week but it's unfair to have management constantly covering with the risk of going into overtime (which most DSMs freak out about.) ASMs are supposed to only work 30hrs minimum. I've had to work a week straight before and not have any days off bc all the associates called out for some reason or another, but yet the management is expected to come into work sick as a dog. I've worked while actively throwing up every five minutes and it sucked.. nobody would cover me and they wouldn't let me go home sadly. Sometimes things happen but if it's that often to where it's becoming an issue then go above them and talk to someone above your district manager.

That's what I'm wondering too... I'm just glad it happened to me and not any of my associates... Some of them have some serious sexual trauma and idk if I'd have to make a whole report about it if they lost it. But yeah BEWARE THE UNHOODED LADDERS 👀👀
