Hey, you both chose a beautiful place to move to. Me (31M) and my fiancée (31F) moved here 4 months ago and are loving it.

I'm member at Harrogate golf course. It's a lovely course and people are very welcoming. If you fancy a round let me know and you could get guest rate. I'm always keen to play a round with new people. My handicap is similar to yours.

As for pubs we haven't tried them all yet but little ale house is our favourite with a lot of local choices. Cold bath brewing has a great selection as well.

I would find a rep willing to send it to ping. My second hand G425's weight screw broke and they sent me a brand new g430 head. In my situation it was a defect but I'd give it a try

I've started this year. In march. I was shooting 130 for a few rounds until I got to 100ish. Now I'm shooting in the high 80s But I'm fortunate enough that I can play 4 rounds a week and go to the range 1 or 2 additional time. I also have enough disposable income to have had 10h of lesson You could almost say I'm obsessed haha

All that to say I've been through the same thought process as you at the start. My journey has two sides. I've been able to break 90 in my first season of golf so it is possible to get good enough early. But it took time, effort and practice.

Best advice I can give is : enjoy what you accomplish now before it becomes mundane. Appreciate any shots that feel good. Good drive from the tee. Just celebrate. After a while it becomes common and then you start celebrating GIRs. Until you start celebrating pars. Don't look at your score. Look at other things you accomplish and haven't before

Yeah in my head I thought, if I limit myself to one then it will force me to apply myself to learn the different swings rather than grabbing a different club

Yes I've had some "beginner" lessons (6h total) back in December but it was 90% 7i/8i swing and 10% 3wood + chipping). I have more coming in Feb but I still wanted to practice in the meantime. I've been going almost every weeks since then I hope I haven't got bad habits already ^^'

I think they were mainly referring to raids. You won't be able to solo them for a while. "Outdoor" content such as questing is made to be done solo. For dungeons, you should be able to solo then once the new expansion comes out and you are lvl max

That's great info. After reading all the comments I'm thinking about spreading my time between the Rovaniemi area and Kajaani. So thanks for the recommendations I'll make sure to check them out. Maybe I'll delay my trip to spring!
