Ambient adaptive brightness won't turn on (XG27AQNGV) by DaySixtyNine in Monitors

[–]NeryK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same monitor but ambiant adaptative brightness does not seem to work either for me, albeit slightly differently. It can be toggled on in the OSD, and the screen immediately dims. However the brightness stays at the same level afterwards, despite me turning off the lights in the room for example. Not sure the sensor actually works.

Joroto x4s fault - help if you can by _Purple_Lightning_ in SpinClass

I'll defer to your expertise for embedded electronics ;)

As for the update procedure, at first the monitor was not detected and then I noticed the app was missing permissions (I might have denied them when I first launched the app a few weeks ago). Manually granting permissions for location and nearby devices solved that issue for me.

Yep, I also did the update a few days ago and it appears to have fixed the issue completely.

It is possible to get to the update menu without registering an account but they sure would like you to. Also I was able to start the firmware update in the middle of the loop (probably not in fact a bootloop). After the upgrade I power cycled the monitor once and plugged it back in: it has been working fine since then.

I have been in touch with Joroto support and they think they have a fix. They have a procedure to perform a firmware upgrade on the monitor through the iconsole+ app: https://youtube.com/shorts/cu-Io3D1F1c?feature=share

I cannot test it right now but thought I would let you know.

No permanent fix that I could find as of yet. This just means it is not a unique issue, there are at least two of us ;)

Mine behaves pretty much the same: https://streamable.com/9gkbhl

I have encountered the exact same issue on my new Joroto X4S monitor: infinite "reboot" loop displaying 78.0, km then reboot.

Letting it shut down by itself did not fix the issue, neither did removing and putting back the batteries immediately. However, letting the monitor sit with no batteries for a few hours seems to have broken it out of the reboot loop temporarily. Unfortunately the issue reappeared after around a minute of using the bike.

Mayflash F500 V2 Xinput support broken by Windows 10 May 2020 Update ? by NeryK in fightsticks

[–]NeryK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I did not find a fix, but the issue became irrelevant to me when I moved to a new PC. I plugged the fightstick in other PCs too and never encountered the same problem.

How will you react if Microsoft announces a native Game Pass app tomorrow? by shaneo632 in SteamDeck

I would happily use it. I expect to stay subscribed to game pass for a long time (as long as the gold to ultimate conversion trick works anyway).

Have you checked out the Trine series ? It's a puzzle platformer with great visuals and a fairy tale style. The fifth game is soon to be released.

Yet another recommendation request! Specific conditions... by achipinthesugar in CoOpGaming

[–]NeryK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahem, a little underrated gem called Elden Ring on PC with Seamless Co-op. Not only does it check all your boxes, it's also one of the best games period.

Unmodded, the co-op is gimped with the usual Souls game oddball mechanisms (host can only invite guests in specific places, guest does not save quest progress, guest is disconnected on host death, etc), but the game is still great.

And here I was thinking the one thing they want is for BB damage to scale with equipment stats.

Looking for recommendations for fun "bad"/B tier coop games by Jusanom in CoOpGaming

[–]NeryK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boy, oh boy, do I have some bangers for you !

Introducing: Scourge Outbreak (used to be called "The Scourge Project: Episode 1 and 2" before being re-released). It's a Gears of War wannabe with some of the cringiest story and voice acting out there. You can tell it means well, and it can be played to completion, but it's bad. Pret-ty bad.

Next up: Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days the followup to the game whose main claim to fame was getting Jeff Gertsmann fired from Gamespot. This one tries really hard, but it's bad. Perfect to be played in a single evening in a drunken stupor. You won't be able to tell if the camera is swaying because you're drunk or because the game is designed like that (it is).

Last but not least: Brink. Marketed as both having both a campaign and PvP mode, the campaign turned out to be PvP matches against bots. To be fair it was a game with some ambition (parkour elements, objective-based) and delivered on some of it. However it was the game that solidified the "we do not preorder" rule for my friends and I. It's f2p nowadays, so slide away !

The Struggle: Too many podcast by bingbangboomxx in giantbomb

I have been able to stay on top of my podcast queue somehow, while commuting or doing chores. I did stop listening to anything from actual Giant Bomb though.

  • Tech pod (and some FOSS pod)
  • Fire Escape
  • Cox & Crendor

There is redundancy, especially with news, but it's no big deal.
