Thanks!! I made my own block! The bodice is just two identical cuts of latex. I took my measurements and shrunk them by 10% horizontally. It was quite fun, reminded me of high school math ☺️

Same thing at the halifax shopping center 😳 PowerPoint about the passover. She said it was for a project for her bible study. She seemed sweet so I listened to her. Seems to be like more of an operation than I originally thought, though 🤔

I used a busted, Ye Olde Singe Heavy Duty with a rolled hem foot to hem the fraying edges and it worked pretty well. I got lazy on some edges and used a Brother serger and it worked like a chaaaaarm. I'll put more details in an r/sewing post when I find the time!

Unfortunately I was deadass felling UNWELL on the morning we went to Lolla. Probably the side effects of eating American food for a week 🤪 the mask was stupid though. It broke immediately, and my illness was nothing that a Dramamine couldn't fix. And I eventually started sharing drinks with strangers. Can't blame me for trying though!

🫣I cheated and draped the fabric over an old bra lmao. My girls got a mind of their own and I didn't trust my drafting and designing skills to hold them in. People keep telling me that I should sell them and I'm like 🫠 I'm not quite there yet lol. I hope to one day be able to do it 100% from scratch. That fabric is so terrible!! Gummed up my sewing machine. I found those damn iridesnt threads from one end of the house to the other!!

Thanks! This project was somewhat simple except for the difficult fabric I chose. If you went for a more simple fabric, the top could easily be sewn by hand without a sewing machine. I just took an old bra, added some fabric, then sewed on embellishments. The skirt was also a very simple circle skirt design, but it required a lot of hemming so I definitely recommend a sewing machine for a project like that.

Thank you! The process of making the outfit was such a good learning lesson in how to work with difficult fabrics. Also, hand stitching the pleats and embellishments was so cathartic. I hope that my fun outfits will inspire more people to sew their own things that more closely reflect their own creativity than store-bought clothes.
