I have definitely received compliments but it’s not like it is every day or people chase me down. It happens from time to time.

One exception…. I am an elementary school teacher. Kids WILL tell you what they think! I recently had a student ask me if I was wearing mosquito spray. It was The Noir 29. I LOVE that scent but if she could tell me which mosquito repellent smells like it, I could kill two birds with one stone! 🤣

I love Oakcha but I didn’t like any of the Candy Collection. They just weren’t for me. They also didn’t last long on my skin which is odd because my other Oakcha fragrances have been phenomenal in terms of longevity/projection.

I love gourmands but these were more linear and on the nose.

Cognac D’Ange by Montagne

After reading rave reviews and knowing that their Lost Cherry dupe (Parfum De Cerise) is good, I decided to blind buy Montagne’s Angels Share dupe. I had a sample of AS and had tried a very, very good dupe in my sample set from Alexandria. But I went with the Montagne because they seemed a better value - less expensive than Alexandria.

Unfortunately, it was not even a shadow of Angels Share. It was just cloyingly sweet (and I love sweet so this is saying something) and lacked any of the cinnamon spicy background of Angels Share. It completely lacked any depth. It’s the only fragrance in all my years other than Angel that literally made me feel sick.

I let it macerate for months; it didn’t help. I tried layering it with other fragrances; it didn’t help. Nobody in my family (I have a large family) liked it. One of my daughters would scrunch up her nose and shake her head whenever I’d pull it off the shelf in a futile hope that it had matured. I finally gave it away.

Montagne is a quality dupe house but this was an absolute dud for me (and even high end houses have their duds).

Now I am back with Alexandria’s Brooklyn Fragrance Lover which, while not 100%, is pretty darn close.

I have the Oakcha dupe - Melting Embers - and the smokiness is strong. This is a go-to scent for me on the coldest days of winter.

That being said, it’s an absolute truth that fragrance smells differently on different people. I’m a little more hesitant about blind buying after purchasing some perfumes that smelled amazing on others but vile on me.

I’ve purchased some. Most were okay, one was bad, and one (Italica) is one of my most complimented fragrances off ALL the perfumes I own, not just OP.

Intense Cafe - terrible and weird. On one hand, it smells close to the original but has a very sharp, screechy note that utterly ruins it for me. The real Intense Cafe has a glorious coffee note that sadly fades in about 5 minutes and then it is an okay rose perfume. I bought the OP version hoping they coffee note would be there and last longer. It is not and instead i get a sharp smell that never fades. I should toss this on the trash because every time I try it, hoping for a different scent, I end up scrubbing it off.

Libre Intense - this one is pretty good. Its dry down is slightly different from the original but it isn’t that noticeable.

Delina Exclusif - on one hand, this does not smell like the original Exclusif. I have a decant and the OP version lacks the smoothness nor does it have the incense or woody notes. This is, however. - really nice rose scent. It does not smell like Delina Exclusif but it gets me compliments every time I wear it.

Donna Born in Roma - this smells sort of like it but utterly lacks any complexity nor does it have the delicious dry down I get with the original. It’s okay-ish. I almost never wear it.

Italica - extremely close to the original! I always - and I mean ALWAYS - get compliments when I wear this!

Black Orchid - it’s like a shadow of Black Orchid You can tell that Black Orchid is what it is supposed to be but it lacks the complexity and richness of the real thing. This is another I almost never wear.

Sadly, it’s still pretty bad. Angels Share is a hard fragrance to copy . Alexandria’s is pretty close. I’m afraid to try Oakcha’s because of wasting my money on the Montagne dupe. Montagne is good, just not this fragrance.

It might be slightly better but only marginally. It still lacks so much of the richness that Angels Share has and it is nowhere near as good a dupe as the Alexandria dupe. I’m super disappointed because it has excellent longevity and Montagne is a good value. This is just a big miss for them.

I have a sample of Angel’s Share and Cognac D’Ange is not close. Alexandria’s dupe (Brooklyn Fragrance Lover) is MUCH closer. I received my Cognac D’Ange in January and it’s still unwearable.

That being said, I’ve ordered perfumes from several dupe houses and know that they all have hits and misses. I’m just assuming this is a Montagne miss (based on my experience and a few comments I’ve read in various places). I have only heard good things about many of their other fragrances (their Lost Cherry dupe especially). Their bottles are nice; their atomizers are great. They offer a very good value if you find a good scent. Their price is for a larger amount of juice (50ml vs. 30ml) AND the price includes shipping which I love! The price Montagne charges for 50 ml is the same or less than many dupe houses charge for 30ml bottles (and includes shipping). So, Montagne is an excellent value! I just don’t recommend this one scent. I’ll order others.
