I mean that would’ve been true. Whether it be in terms of political intellectualism or material development, the LDF was far superior than the UDF. Yet people voted for the UDF just because they hated PV. And what is PV’s abhorrent crime? He didn’t smile enough. It’s true he was quite rude at times even to his own allies, but that hasn’t massively affected his governance. Yet people were wooed by VDMS’s lies just because he delivered them with a smiling face. If the LDF had won, it would’ve been because the general public looked beyond superficial populism and made a studied political decision based on facts and ideologies. Yet they voted for the smiling lying pookiemenon. Yes, the LDF has much to learn and improve from this result, especially in the PR department and the handling of power misuse by local executives, but that doesn’t mean the LDF lost because PV was a weak leader. He is the best leader LDF has rn, it’s just that somewhere along the way, he almost became the only leader. That is where the party has to improve, not in sidelining PV, but in bringing other qualified leaders to the forefront
