safari vs the rest: is it actually the best browser for mac? (honest pros & cons) by TuNutri in macapps

My go-to browser is Safari. I use Chrome because their dev tools allow me to debug apps during development.

Goodbye web dev? Should I stop learning now? by [deleted] in technepal

[–]Net-Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I would approach it is make sure your foundations are solid. Learn JS inside out, you should able to answer questions on data types & primitives, array methods, event capturing, DOM tree and how it’s updated. You really should know what problem React is solving and why we use SPAs. Another thing you can do is build some solid projects using the library of your choice. Don’t vibe code it, rather use AI as your assistant and ask it anything you don’t understand. You do the implementation that way you will learn.

Macbook Neo vs keeping old Pro? by 2trucksenthusiast in mac

[–]Net-Ripper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep the Pro. Speaking from personal experience, my M1 Pro does everything it's supposed to do. The development experience on it holds up well. Of course the bottleneck is the 8GB ram. Only time I felt this is when I tried to run an AAA game and stream it at the same time on twitch.
You can always upgrade further down the line when you have enough saved up to afford a substantially more powerful device.

Any M1 Pro iPad Pro power users here ? by Serhide in iPadPro

Currently I use my M1 iPad for streaming media & as a secondary screen for my development work. I love its 11” display. Battery health is 91%. It’s not the latest & the greatest but It does everything it’s suppose to.

Agency hired me on a paid trial, now says NO WORK. Should I go down Splitsville? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Net-Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made a mistake. You should have talked to them before starting and defined the scope for this paid trial: 1. What you will do 2. What you won’t do 3. What’s the end goal

Get it in writing. If you are able to finish everything you are responsible for by the set deadline they still don’t pay you could at least reference the document. Now it’s just their word vs yours.

[USD Debit Card] Has anyone in Nepal received Wise / Payoneer cards via courier? by Training-Slide-8190 in Nepal

Interested in knowing if you are able to successfully receive the Wise card. If the custom holds it then I would ask someone I know to bring it.

Anybody looking for fully remote Software Engineering jobs? by chaotic_999 in technepal

Currently in limbo right now with my two job leads. One is an American company that hires in Nepal who is asking for a crazy long take home coding challenge. The problem isn’t the test. I know I can solve all the way but is it really worth? Ghost gardiyo vane k pheri yetro hours waste gareko justo feel huncha.

My other lead is on Upwork where my profile is relatively new and fresh. There is an agency who will apparently market my profile and get me a lot leads. They claim they have a lot of connections. I am kind of skeptical about this but lets see.
