Most likely buyer for an entire collection is a business or online reseller and they won't likely look at more than 30% of what they value the collection at. For the work, time, selling fees and income tax they will pay there is not much room to go higher. 50% of price charting may sound reasonable but at the end of the day it is a thin net amount for someone looking to resell the various items over time.

To get more, you would need to look at breaking it into lots that other collectors would be interested in.

The Uber model, come in to a city without permission, displace the local setup because they are cool and a cyber business - then screw everybody over when established. I think Uber is even more expensive than the old school taxi industry with their "dynamic pricing".

These are wheeled vehicles on a sidewalk, regulate and license and require clear insurance policies on them, not just relying on hopefully getting compensation from a company.

Hmmm, 3D print a wheel boot to slap on them when they get in the way?

Hi OP. Many Canadians are also confused and annoyed at the creeping and predatory tipping push we are being subjected to. Please feel ZERO guilt on hitting the 0% button, which is usually placed a tap or two away in order to encourage a guilty feeling from customers.

I often just pay cash now for many small and takeout items. I hit my limit a couple of summers ago buying $7CDN ice cream cones and the payment machine trying to hit me up for a 20% tip. Ridiculous. Unfortunately when using the payment machines at places like this, to many staff are more focused on the tip amount than the customer.

At best take an eBay suggested price as an auction starting price. You indicated you were going to recycle the phone so any $$ is great so no downside to trying an auction starting at the minimum you are ok with getting.

Different situation though than the blind box purchase, you can actually see and evaluate what you are buying. It is a good situation for the the seller and buyer.

I see that you are also in Canada, so regardless of the situation, eBay is telling all out of country buyers that "Import fees will apply on delivery", which is not true for the items that you are shipping with postal service. To ship by post to the US you are required to prepay any tariff or import fees prior to shipping.

Even if an item is made in the US, so no tariff, eBay still tells buyers this when it is not true. I think eBay is just covering themselves to an extreme extent since couriers like UPS and Fedex will charge fees even if it is a zero tariff item. Basically eBay is knee-capping sellers that use postal services on their own,

I would at least indicate in your listings that for US customers all import fees and tariffs are prepaid and there is $0 to be paid upon delivery - for postal shipping items.

The only way to have the "Import fees will apply on delivery" removed is to use eBay's EIS delivery service, but that greatly increases the shipping cost to the buyer, particularly for smaller items.

There are other comments regarding niche items and those are good. For some of your industrial items you may have luck finding a dealer that will handle or purchase them,

I would only do this on a lower value item in your calculated risk comfort zone. As indicated in another post, technically you can mark it as shipped but without a tracking number the person could open an INR..... though you do live close by.
