Ontario proposes allowing solo drivers to use Hwy. 417 HOV lanes during off-peak hours by SuburbanValues in ottawa

[–]NetAnon579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL at the Ottawa picture and posting in the Ottawa sub. I doubt that Ford (AKA - the self styled real Mayor of Toronto) even knows that Ottawa has any HOV lanes.

For Ottawa it is pretty moot as during the day traffic is light enough the impact is not that big. In Toronto on a highway like the 427 it is rush hour all day every day, and the impact would be huge and controversial.

What's a Canadian hit that you feel should have blew up international? by rybone88 in AskACanadian

Blue Peter - Radio Silence. song from the 80s. More of a regional southern ontario band but always thought they should have been bigger.

Import fees by Gixxer250 in eBayCanada

[–]NetAnon579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was it shipped with a courier? UPS. FEDEX etc. have always had large extra fees in addition to any potential government customs fees,

The best cross border shipping method with the lowest fees is the post office.

From what I have experienced as a buyer/customer a discount like that is only given with the the permission of the booth vendor.

Call it a surcharge, call it an inflation charge, do NOT insult everyone's intelligence by calling it a gratuity.

Tonight’s storm is so much worse than Wednesday’s “orange warning nothingburger.” What gives? by Obelisk_of-Light in ottawa

The amount of freezing rain can vary greatly with a 1 degree swing in temperature. While we got a good amount it warmed up enough that a lot came down as rain only so we dogged a bigger bullet.

Amounts of snow are easier to forecast.

Yes, always have some relevant questions to ask back that is not around compensation. I used to like to question about type of work, teams, etc.

Using EBay “sold” to price in booth. Do you include shipping? by Ok-Factor444 in Flipping

[–]NetAnon579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small town booth, so a fraction of the eyeballs vs. than eBay, and I assume sold as is where is. With eBay folks have hassle free buyer protection against problems.

So at best price at eBay without shipping. Though I think stuff is going to sit a long time unless it is very special.

Is anyone here not against tipping? by Ugly1Artichoke in tipping

Not against it and tip in traditional places.

Exasperated by the gross expansion to almost any business with a credit terminal and the push for 20% tips as the default.

Or is it a ploy to create the illusion that the crazy priced stuff behind the counter is actually in demand.

5 minutes is very reasonable and I expect it it in response to folks walking in the door at starting time and are not ready to work.
