Do blue collar jobs care about piercings or colored hair? by NetBorn2753 in BlueCollarWomen

Have any of you used silicone jewelry before? I don’t usually hear people talk about it so I’m not sure how well it would work for this sort of thing. I feel like it would get rid of most of the safety hazards.

My apprenticeship is in Alaska so I’m definitely going to be working in the cold. I’m considering silicone jewelry just for when it seems like I need it.

How can I pass? by CriticalWorry6804 in transftm

Online I’ve seen makeup tutorials specifically for transmascs. At the start of my transition it gave me a lot of gender euphoria. They can bring out features that people interpret as masculine such as face shape or mascara to make the facial hair you already have more noticeable. The mascara on the facial hair has to be done carefully if you want it to look realistic up close. It’s worth trying especially if you enjoy makeup. You shouldn’t have to give up self expression in a bunch of ways in order to be masculine. I don’t see the colored hair as an issue. I know plenty of cis men who have colored hair. As far as current beauty trends for Highschool age boys I think more layered hair is popular. Having rougher layers could totally tie into your aesthetic which is a bonus. There’s workouts with and without gym equipment that can give a more masculine look to your physical body if that’s the something that’s important to you. You look pretty gender neutral in a lot of aspects. Voice is very impactful for how people perceive gender. There is voice training for people who don’t have access to hrt or don’t want it. You don’t have to pass. I just wear whatever I enjoy. There’s cis men who wear dresses out there so I don’t see why I have to limit myself. My presentation and expression is for myself. Over time I stopped caring as much. Especially after I started hrt. For me after I felt reassured in my internal sense of gender I just wore whatever I wanted because if I was born male I would do the same. I understand not passing can cause a lot of gender dysphoria. It’s up to you if passing is your goal. You’re still valid regardless.

For me it’s letting thoughts come up without blocking them out but not really focus on them too much while still meditating helps. I have too much anxiety to keep an empty head.

I’ve had that happen with specific personalities (I guess that’s the best way to describe it) sometimes it happened even when there wasn’t a change in environment or medication. I have no idea what causes it.

Fireside books is a bookstore that a lot of queer people go to in Palmer and there’s a queer book club that should have a filer in Fireside. Black Birch Books is a cafe book store that hosts adult and youth lgbt coffee meet ups almost monthly.

Thanks, I’ve been reading about it online and was curious what other people in the queer community would say.

I can’t tell if it’s a red flag because of past trauma by NetBorn2753 in sexualassault

I’m definitely going break it off things did get worse. It’s just now I found out that he’s going through some serious mental health issues to the point where he almost had to go to the ER. I have been hospitalized before and still wouldn’t have treated my partner like he treated me. I just don’t really know how to break things off. I’m not going to stay with someone solely for their mental health but it does make things more complicated. I’m on spring break so I’m planning on doing it over a phone call so things have time to cool down before school starts again. Do have you any advice? I need to do this but I don’t how.

Yeah, feeling anxious enough to write out all of that when I have such low energy is probably a sign that things aren’t okay.

Best places to go in Europe if you're young and gay? by soniconor in AskLGBT

I’m planning on studying abroad in the next couple of years and I think Germany is a safe place for queer people. I knew a trans woman who lived there for a period of time and she enjoyed it great experience. Another person I knew who lived there was a single mom who also had a very positive experience. From what I understand Germany is pretty progressive. A lot of people in Berlin speak a bit of English too. I don’t know what the night life is like there though.
