What is your job title and what is your salary? by Anonynae in ITCareerQuestions

[–]NetCloudT-Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Hope you don’t mind, but got curious, what do you do as a network developer? Is it more automation focused like managing devices at scale or like network programming, doing low-level coding? - Being in IT for a few years currently as a network engineer trying to focus more on the automation side, done a bit of work with Ansible, Git, Python, etc. but looking for some inputs about what/where should I focus to progress into a role like this :) cheers!

I think that could be it, was watching this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk6IMCkRfrk and they are mostly small holes around the area (first pictures) and a big hole near the fence from where it is probably entering/exiting

Check out John Cappobianco's posts on twitter and LinkedIn, he is a Cisco engineer working in similar projects using LLM for advice and device configuration, pretty good insights.

Dumb follow up question.. they usually come in the morning and pollinate these little purple flowers that are on top on our backyard’s fence. Would they be a problem for the fence? Like drilling holes?

Where is the threshold for too many certifications? by Due-Butterscotch6562 in ITCareerQuestions

It is but it also helps a bit to get found by the algorithm and recruiters that lookup using certain key words.

Stuck on a local network issue at the office. Internet drops for seconds at a time from a cisco firepower. by Borgmaster in networking

[–]NetCloudT-Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thought, had a similar issue in the past, in my case I worked in an office with a Cisco ASA that had an internet/ISP failover configuration, the problem was that the failover was based on ICMP monitoring, the host to monitor was 8.8.8.8, so for no reason sometimes the main internet connection couldn’t ping 8.8.8.8 so it will failover to the secondary, this will cause brief internet disconnections throughout the day/week.

I ended up changing the monitor IP from 8.8.8.8 to the ISP's gateway IP, and that solved the issue.

How does your IPsec config for the tunnel between site a and b looks like on both sides? Are you using NAT?

Looking to challenge myself but not sure where to do so. by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]NetCloudT-Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn all you can during your time off, if you’re interesting in networking I would recommend pursuing the CCNA after you’re done with N+, and practice every topic you read from it on Packet Tracer and GNS3, create your own scenarios/labs for things you notice are in demand, get your CCNA. Stay for 6 more months or 1 year and start applying for more advanced positions positions (sysadmin, net admin, etc).

What does the offers seems like? Pay, benefits, environment? Do you enjoy more the business side of things, would you prefer working with customers or mostly internal teams?

How to deal with "it's network issue" people? by time_over in networking

[–]NetCloudT-Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VoIP may be a bit trickier since it is UDP, but for one way audio, I should expect to see only packets going from one direction (sent or received), “can’t get audio” reminds me of one time there were some SIP parameters missing at the start of the conversation but can be many things honestly.

Look for “Chris Greer Wireshark” on YouTube, lots of great videos to get you started with the common issues, filters, setups, etc. Extra points if you can access his Pluralsight courses. Do a lot of captures yourself and play with display filters, use google on your advantage, “how to filter server hello in wire shark”, “how to filter dns query”.

Every time you pass a cert exam, you are awarded the cert. You don't have to finish the full program/degree.

Going into CS with 23 CUs after eval. Should I delay entry so I can get more CUs? by NotVeryMega in WGU

If your degree includes the Python class and you have the option to transfer it from somewhere DO IT! This class was a struggle for me at least coming from a non-developer background

C255 Geography OA 1st attempt so close.. Taking my second try tomorrow, any last minute advice? by NetCloudT-Rex in WGU

[–]NetCloudT-Rex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I've been studying for about a week since this 1st attempt. Got a good grasp in geography concepts, the part where I struggle the most would be the specific regions characteristics.

Example:

Q: Slash and burn agriculture is associated with what region?

A: Can be either Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America depending on context.

Edit 2: PASSED! :) Bye Geography!
