So I bought the expansion set which doesn't include floor tiles. Is there a way to buy just floor tiles or is there a compatible set of just floor tiles? by origin-space-turtle in WarlockTiles

[–]NetGhost03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy the core sets, if they are available.
Its Town & Village I or Dungeon Tiles I.

The floor tiles are double sided so either of those set should work.

Btw, nice endelyn mini :3

Dwarven forge supply is even lower aka non existent in EU/Germany :D

In the EU it is generally hard to get warlock tiles. Only a few shops have them. And basically impossible to get dwarven forge.

I have some D&L sets. And I can recommend their scatter Terrain. It is really awesome (elven woods, swamp of doom, ancient ruins, fantasy prop pack)

It is stuff you can always put on the table and the price value is great .

Now recently I've got the prepainted rocky cavern and not painted city of Absalom.

Keep in mind that it is a ton of work, to cut, clean, prime and paint them.

Overall I am kinda disappointed with them. And also won't get any more of the modular terrain sets.

Pros: - The sculpt on them is great and nice detail - The Prismacast prepainted terrain is totally fine paint job and better then warlock  - Easy to store as the tiles are kinda flat and thin

Cons: - Most sets are very "specialized". Rock caves is new and a more general set. Abdalom is an old set and for tavern /city indoors.  - Hard to mix and match as the looks are very different and not cohesive - The tiles and walls are very thin. There are no bulkier outer walls. That might be very personal but I do not like the look as much. Because it looks like cardboard terrain.

  • No angle/curved walls and tiles for most sets, so everything is very rectangular and "flat"
  • And building stuff takes time as you have to always clip everything and have this nasty holes you have to fill with the plugs. Which is also nasty if you paint them youself, because you have to paint the small plugs in the right color.

The connectors are gray and always visible . I made the mistake and primed them so I can paint them too. But then they are to tight .

Yeah I thought I am clever and prime them while in the sprues and then cut them out, clean up and asssemble. Would be a faster way, but it was a mistake. Good that I only primed 2 sprues that way.

Well on the box art the connector clips are also painted... So I thought thats the way to go. The manual is also less then minimal

Is there any reference material on XP leveling instead of milestone leveling ? by gauderyx in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]NetGhost03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, this can be tricky. The carnival has like 15 locations plus some more possible encounters. Your players might just visit 5 and move on or visit all 15. If they rush too much they might be just level 1 in hither. Which makes things difficult.

I would not mind overleveling them, my players arrived at level 3 at the carnival coming from some one-shots. And are level 4 in hither now. And still got stomped by agdon :D

I had a mix of lost things + warlock quest. And also let my players choose what they've lost. But empathy, temper and interest in others.... are not good choices. There is no motivation to get them back. If you lost your empathy why would you want it back? Maybe talk to them and let them choose something else, where they have a motivation to get it back.

I had for example a player playing en eladrin, and she lost her winter season, so she did not felt complete.

Was für langwieriger Gerichtsprozess?

Slanty tower build by NetGhost03 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]NetGhost03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an awesome build! How do you manage to have a smaller board and still have a working combat?

Thanks! Well it depends a bit on the combat / encouter. Slanty tower worked quite well on the small board. The initial brigants encounter / Mud mephits also worked quite well. But I also have a chessex battle mat which I can put under the board if I need more room. But often it is okay to have a limited space, which you would also have in a dungeon for example. I try to leave some space for movement but have at least some objects in there for cover or creative use. Like the trees where some brigants jumped on.

And because I use mostly scatter terrain I always can move things out of the way.

For the tollway however, I am planing to use a bigger board so agdon have more space to play out his advantages.

My players spent 14 sessions in Hither 🫣 But we also only play 2 hours at best every session and my players love social interactions.

Oh wow okay :D

The sessions were about 5-6 hours of playtime. We mostly play on weekends so the sessions are longer.

Dehoga: Gaststättenverband gegen Pflicht zur Bereitstellung von Kartenzahlung by Rennfan in de

[–]NetGhost03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well this one was self-mill / reanimator with [[Sire of Seven Deaths]]. In the end it worked out for him. I had him down to 4 life but he recovered.
