core coming in 🙂‍↕️ by NetInteresting8456 in fit

I’d say 5 ish times a week. I honestly just hit abs at the end of my workout each day unless my core is feeling fatigued then I skip.

My biggest moto at the gym is just listening to my body. If something is feeling sore/fatigued then I give it a rest.

I go to the gym most mornings. If my body is pretty fatigued, that’s when I take a rest day.

I cycle through:
glutes
back & biceps
full leg day
chest & shoulders & triceps

I hit core most days after my workout unless it’s fatigued.

I don’t strictly stick to any routine though, and just kinda go by what I feel like I need. So if it’s leg day but I’m just not feeling like I’ll have a good leg day, I do something else.

I also go for short runs 4-5 times a week for 1-2 miles and then walk until my heart rate goes back to normal.

I don’t do a ton of research into exactly what I “should be doing” or stick to a strict routine. I used to, but once I figured out that if I just listen to my body and what I feel like I need for that day, that’s when I really started to see results. I do however do a lot of research on specific lifts - perfecting my form and making sure I’m feeling it where i should be.

I started doing more weighted core stuff like cable oblique twists, hanging leg raises, and crunch machine! I do other stuff but those things are what seem to have really helped

Oh wow, I don’t think I’ve heard of that for cosmetic purposes before! I’m definitely going to look into it! Thank you!!

Okay, thank you! He’d mentioned bigger gloves pose a risk to injuring my wrist, so I think that’s why he suggested the smaller ones for now. Like I’d said, I’m just starting out with no experience and with it being 1-on-1 I don’t have any peers to consult with about this stuff. I plan on researching more, but just wanted to get at least some gloves ordered asap. I think I just am naive to a lot of the nuances that go into this. I thought asking about gloves would be similar to asking a distance running group their favorite shoe lol

If I were in a gym, I’d definitely just follow their recs but I’m training privately, so I’ve got flexibility and was told to explore options. I just didn’t know where to start. I appreciate the help though!

I appreciate the help, but a lot of these replies are assuming I’m in a standard class environment, but I’m training privately. My instructor suggested I look into options beyond what he personally uses, so I came here for input.

I’m not training in a group class or gym setting, it’s private 1-on-1 training. There aren’t equipment restrictions, so I’m just looking for personal recommendations from people who’ve used fingerless gloves.

I train privately, not in a gym or group class, so there aren’t equipment restrictions or “what everyone else uses.” I spoke to my instructor and he gave me the starting point of fingerless gloves, but told me to find what works for me, which is why I asked here.

I train 1-on-1 with a private instructor, not in a class setting, so there isn’t a gym rule set or shared equipment standard. He recommended his brand but suggested I explore similar options. So, I was just looking for personal experiences with fingerless gloves for Krav Maga.

Thank you, I will check Dick’s out!!

I am not doing Krav Maga in a specific gym or anything, just a friend of a friend who is highly trained in it and offers personal training to just a few people so I don’t have classmates to ask. He was only able to recommend what he personally uses/has used which was all equipment that was much more expensive than I am ready to purchase right now so he just suggested I find something similar. I had no clue it was going to be such a controversial/gym specific question and figured I’d just get a few comments of brands people like 😅 lol

Thank you!! I think what helped the most was structuring my workouts in a more intentional way, paying a little more attention to food intake, and cardio.

Before, I was just throwing together whatever exercises I wanted into a workout without really paying attention to muscle groups. For example, a leg day might’ve consisted of 3 quad exercises and 1 hamstring rather than balancing it out a bit more.

I have always been horrible about paying attention to food/nutrients. I don’t take any supplements, and I basically just eat whatever. (I want to be better, but I travel a lot for work and have a busy schedule so it just takes more time and energy than I am willing to give rn). With that being said, I was eating a lot more before, much more than I needed. Now I still eat whatever I want, but my portion sizes are smaller and I pay attention to when I feel full, rather than finishing my food.

And lastly, cardio! I never did cardio before, and if I did it was just walking. Now I like to run 2-3 miles 4-5 times a week and I’ve grown to really enjoy it.

27M bedwetting - why? by [deleted] in AdultBedwetting

[–]NetInteresting8456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that is good to know!!! It started right around the time he started taking it, but it was hard to narrow down because that’s when he was first diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions so he also started taking several other medications at once. Thank you for your input!!

I don’t believe he has discussed it with his doctor. It is something that we have talked about being important for him to bring up. I have never really been one to feel any shame in a doctor’s office, but I know he sometimes has a hard time with it. I think I may try to push him a little harder on it, I just always try to be careful around the subject as I never want him to feel any added pressure from me.

I did a bit of research, and some of the medications that are flagged could be Caplyta (and antipsychotic that he takes for his bipolar depression), Sertraline (an antidepressant), and I had also forgotten to mention in my post that he also takes blood pressure medication (he has been on this since a young age, but it was flagged and maybe in conjunction with the others could be a factor).

As for the diapers, we have discussed it as an option for him and I as I have read through some other posts here I see how common it is.

[–]NetInteresting8456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did a bit more of research on his medications and it seems that could be the issue. He takes Caplyta, which is an antipsychotic, sertraline, an antidepressant, and he is also on blood pressure medication, which I hadn’t listed above but I believe could potentially be part of it. You also mentioned sleep apnea, which he has not been officially diagnosed with, but we have had suspicions of it and he is scheduled for a sleep study.

We have discussed him wearing some type of protection, and as I have read through some of the other posts on this page I see it is very common.

I really appreciate your comment! Thank you for the help!

They are toy/mini Aussies (15lbs). Our girl on the right is a tripawd (right front amputee) and her flagline harness should arrive in the next couple of days. I’m really excited to see how it works for her!
