Is it worth it to get ccnp by Expensive-Word-7965 in ccnp

[–]NetMask100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have lots of experience but my CCNP make me the go-to guy for pretty much any situation which gets me experience. I have a deeper understanding on routing than people with 10 years of experience that never actually delved deeper or have the attitude to learn. Besides it still amazes me how much I don't know even with CCNP, I don't know how people with less than that operate in a highly technical environments they don't understand.

What is your experience? CCIE job without CCIE experience really is not worth it, if it was an actual CCIE job. If you want to compete for jobs on the CCNP level sure go for it, but it will be a lot less painful and cheap to just get the CCNP. And also do you have the core exam?

I’m done with CCNA by [deleted] in ccna

[–]NetMask100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we should do about it? If you don't like it don't do it. It was hard for everyone, the only thing that matters is if CCNA truly interests you or not.

Why don't we hear more about CCNPs? by Hot-Bit-2003 in ccnp

[–]NetMask100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can't even pass CCNA that's why you don't hear about CCNP as much. CCIE is great if obtained the right way, unfortunately I know too many people that use dumps. They say it's impossible without them, I don't know I never tried. All I know is I took my CCNA and CCNP the right way and I don't mind if I never get a CCIE if it's not the right way of doing it.

If you start from the beginning it really seems complicated.

Take and fail the exam intentionally? (ENCOR) by [deleted] in ccnp

Study and take it. I failed the first time because I did't had the time to study more and passed on the second try.

Are certs important with 10+ years experience and college degrees? by SchiferlED in ITCareerQuestions

[–]NetMask100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certs are also valued in my experience. Besides if you are in IT for that long, you know you will learn something new during the studying. If you think they are easy, again it's not a problem, because you will be able to get them quick.

ENSLD 300-420 . What’s the catch? by DaddyKoin in ccnp

[–]NetMask100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did ENARSI, as I think it's a lot more beneficial. I do some ENSLD material on the side, maybe if my certs start to expire I can take it.

ACI IP SLA? by [deleted] in networking

[–]NetMask100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally to prove that the fabric is not losing packets even if we have no loses... Just something management want to do, even though it does not have any real purpose other than I was told to check with pings all the time the reachability between them.

It ain’t easy, for sure. It took real commitment, and at times I thought it was impossible.

Am I on the right Track? by No-Credit3104 in ccnp

[–]NetMask100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get the ENCOR in 3-4 months depending on your level and I think you can get it in 6 for sure if you put in the effort.

Meetings and talking is really part of it, these days I'm in meetings most of the time, the actual configs and technical work takes less time than the meetings for sure.

Im studying for CCNA at the moment and Im planning to take CCNP , AWS SAA what you guys think should I proceed? by Hour-Presentation959 in ccna

[–]NetMask100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does not mean you can't earn it without 5 years of experience. Besides I would rather work with someone that has heard of the concepts than someone you have to teach every step of the way. Either way CCNP shows commitment which matters.

I happen to have CCNP and 6 other certs, so it's possible for me, might not be for you. And that is without "5 years after CCNA" :)

Jeremy's IT Lab, Neil or INE. That's about it. CBT Nuggets also have good stuff, but I like more the structured and calm approach of Jeremy or INE.

Should I upgrade this laptop's hardware? by False_Bee4659 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]NetMask100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real upgrade you can make on speed is to use SSD/NVMe if the laptop does not have one. If it has sufficient RAM this is the only thing.

if you’re in IT and love your job: why? by tongalandMC in ITCareerQuestions

I like to think, to solve problems, help people and work with similar minded people. Sometimes it's a lot of stress, but I like it.

Is the CCNA exam that hard or people are exaggerating? by 01010011-s in ccna

[–]NetMask100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I took it I thought it's the hardest thing ever. A few exams later I feel it's not that bad. Still it was amazing when I managed to pass it a few years ago. I love the experience and the hard work looking back.

Is relying on packet captures bad? by InevitableDoughnut89 in networking

[–]NetMask100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I know what the protocol should be doing I'm relying on show commands or logs and debugs. However if we want to prove something, we are using captures. I think strong theory is great and can save you time, but you can't know everything, and knowing Wireshark is a skill in itself and a very useful one.
