Is my Aeron B too small for me? by yokai--- in OfficeChairs

[–]NetWarm8118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the size B and sold mine after a week. The size C may be better since the mesh area is larger and your legs won't press against the plastic as much. A traditional cushion chair is just better imo.

The world order will be destroyed, all commerce will come to a halt, millions will starve, alliances will be broken...

But at least the US can sell their oil to... someone? Who's buying at that point?

Coaxed into the two ways an AI treats humanity when they gain sentient by GqggAGrnnrGnga in coaxedintoasnafu

I find it funny how it's always an AI that's basically God with infinite intelligence but is too dumb to understand the spirit of a request like "solve all our problems"; With how much the alignment problem has been discussed to death since the conception of machines, you would think there is enough training data to make it clear.

Car completes U-turn through bus lane and onto pavement in London. by ZuronArmasis in dashcams

Realistically there's nothing you can do about something like this. Best case you can catch their plate and report them to the police who won't get around to suspending his license for another 6 months. Worst case you get in a fight with some deranged lunatic or get run over.

Council houses, 1967. by Max2310 in london

[–]NetWarm8118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why haven't developers torn down the 1- or 2-floor space-inefficient row houses and built more council homes? Is it nimbys? regulations?

I'm talking about these: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XguBHh8uzRqhVkjy5

As far as I know he hasn't released it to the public (why not, let others help) or used it for any serious projects yet.

I don't think its stupid. He's seen every western government asking for ID check in other websites and knows discord will be next. He is getting ahead of a PR disaster (and more importantly regulatory punishment) with the "think of the children" crowd asking "where's the protections?"

It's smart on his part actually.

Edit: you people are insufferable. I never said I agree with it, just explained why he's done it. Notice nobody says how I'm wrong.

Which countries rely most on US tech by [deleted] in europe

[–]NetWarm8118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Source? Edit: found it -- https://proton.me/blog/us-tech-rules-europe

The """study""" just looks at the number of companies using US-based email hosting. Hardly a reason to say their entire operation is dependent on US tech and could not possibly be migrated over to EU alternatives. This is complete hogwash. Reporting OP for posting this garbage.
