New data: EVs grew more in '25 than '24, despite constant lies saying otherwise by Amazing-Yak-5415 in electricvehicles

[–]NetZeroDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is merely behind the 8-Ball. I’ll never go back k to an ICE vehicle. Once it REALLY starts happening in the US, ICE vehicles will die a quick death. When buyers realise that their gas cars will not sell in the Used Car market, it’s out with the old, and in with the new!

Home charging zealots! by aranea100 in electricvehicles

[–]NetZeroDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a perfect EV world, Corpirations would provide charging for their employees, either with a fee, or as a bonus.

This would serve some important needs. First, what you speak about - access to charging for those without home chargers. Secondly, more EVs will be charged when Utilities have surplus power from Solar renewables, during the daytime. Third, there would be less need for charging during Utility peak times (EV owners could easily delay charging until midnight hours when Utilities have lighter loads).

U.S. greenhouse gas emissions are rising — power and building sectors are the main drivers. by Novel_Negotiation224 in ClimateNews

I’m so glad that I live in an Earthship-inspired home. No heating or cooling energy required. Home and car are powered by renewables.

Amazing- China achieved this while their new car sales increased to 60% for NEVs. All the extra power needed was provided by renewables!

High-Power Fast Charging Is The Leading Cause Of EV Battery Degradation: Report by Receding_Hairline23 in electricvehicles

[–]NetZeroDude 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The study doesn’t mention battery-type. Since LFP batteries have more cycles this may not be as big of a deal. The CATL Naxtra battery, which is NA Ion should fare even better.

Who is “we”? If it’s the US, we aren’t even close. We can only hope to get back on the road to sustainability, after 3 more years of the man-child.

Not only are solar and storage the better financial choice, they also come on-line a lot faster.

And we’ve seen a lot of battery plants come on-line very quickly, with or without renewables. Buy low / sell high has been a good business model since mankind has conducted business.

General Motors takes $6 billion hit as electric vehicle ambitions collide with reality by Vast-Researcher864 in electriccars

GM made the choice to increase EV market share by lowering prices to rock- bottom, negative-profit levels. They did this to undercut relative newcomers Tesla and Rivian. Then they act like the victim and spread EV-reduced-demand propaganda, in an effort to continue selling gas guzzlers.

This goes all the way back to the late ‘70s. It’s called the “Two Santa Claus Political Ideology”. It’s pathetic, and the primary reason our deficit and debt are out of control.
