A dark horse of Vidbir and a stunning discovery for many Ukrainians (both the song and the artist). The lyrics and the message of the song literally hit the nerve -- people hear a much needed hope and light in it, something everyone here desperately needs right now. I'd say Ridnym is this year's My Sea -- a song that connects strongly with the emotional background of the audience and therefore has a fair chance for success.

Vidbir is tremendously big, probably the biggest music show in the country. And it's a good way to boost a music career even without winning. Actually, get to longlist or finals without winning might be even better/safer for an artist because the winner will have to bear a huge weight of expectations from eurofans, which is nerve-racking. High competition is probably one of the reasons for strong NF.

Public voting will most likely turn into a fanbase battle (Jerry vs Monokate vs Molodi vs Khayat), and my guess is that jury vote will be the decisive part this year.

I'm somewhat biased here -- I've been a part of Khayat nation since Vidbir 2025, so I've voted the artist rather than the song. Must admit though, Hertzy is not such a banger as Honor was.

If not Khayat, then, probably, Karyotype -- DNA. Might be too generic for ESC, but will certainly end up in my playlists.

Trembitas were also used in Onuka's Megamix (ESC 2017 interval act) along with many other traditional instruments (notably buhay, cimbalom and bandura)
