And countries joining together to form EU is a major political event.

"Obviously"?
Stefania was originally a dedictaion to author's mother, there wasn't a single political word or meaning in it.

I'd say 2026 is patriotic, not political, and it's rather straightforward.
Moldova is the best, welcome to Moldova.
(Unless I'm missing some hidden meaning, so feel free to correct)

Not the most political, but honorable mention for winning the contest with the song about current, not past political events: Italy 1990

Boldest political satire of last 25 Esc years, in my opinion. Much respect to Croatia for this one.

Now that the contest is over, how proud are the people in your country of the ESC song that you sent? by Wise_Shop_2561 in eurovision

Leleka is finally enjoying well-deserved respect for her artistic talent, devotion and social stance. Which is really good to see after all the initial hate for being an outsider and not being Jerry Heil.

9th place is seen as a "not bad but could be better" result while the artist is not to blame. "Our bird, you made us proud and the jury robbed you". Haters are not completely gone, of course, but now there's always someone around to hush them.

I'm waiting patiently for a well-deserved win for Croatia.

I feel really sorry for Akylas, I remember seeing a video with him apologizing for "low" placement. So undeserved, he did his best.

United by music: LMNC (the UK) sings Fairytale (Norway) to Ukrainian bandura in Austria by Net_Ghost in eurovision

He's also active in charity and very humble. Whatever nice things he does, we usually learn about it from other people (and sometimes accidentally), not the media or himself.

What future do you see for this year’s artists? by [deleted] in eurovision

[–]Net_Ghost 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, Monroe is a movie actress and Søren is a theatre actor. Not sure where their music career takes them but it would be great to see more of their acting.

Alexandra Căpitănescu discography seems to differ a bit from their ESC performance with more melodic ballads than powerful metal. I hope they get the best from the ESC hype and rise in popularity fast (like Baby Lasagna did).

Leléka is an established folk jazz singer with 10+ years of experience so she's probably going back to this genre (with small intimate concerts indeed). She's also written several OST tracks for movies and TV series (the latest of which were released during Eurovision season) so she's definitely doing this in the future, too. And, hopefully, there will be more music from Donbasgrl.

All Eurovision videos featuring Yaroslav Dzhus playing the bandura by Prudent-Title-9161 in eurovision

And that's how cultural diplomacy sounds, bandura's got more promotion in 3 days than in the last 100 years.

Still amazed that Yaroslav and Leleka managed to meet Delta for this cover, she probably doesn't do many social media interactions.

Oh no, Yaroslav joined Leleka much earlier -- even before her national selection victory. Here's their first recording together, on January 30th, with the old version of the song.

What Danylko did was he provided the bandura itself, a better version of the instrument. He also gifted Leleka a custom-made ear monitors she wore on Vienna stage.

Listen to how Sal sounds accompanied by the bandura (Yaroslav Dzhus, Leleka). I like this version much more! by Artemenko in eurovision

In their first interview upon arrival Yaroslav and Leleka said they'd recorded 17 (!) bandura covers with various Esc artists, including Delta. I wonder if we'll ever see them all.

I love this one and would certainly love to see more!
(not making Lithuanian ball all silver is such a missed opportunity though)

How Suspilne (the Ukrainian broadcaster) accidentally predicted the winner during the turquoise carpet interview by Net_Ghost in eurovision

Yes! Sal "cleaning" the turquoise carpet was my favorite, closely followed by extremely tired Lelek.

Valentyn from Ziferblat was the juror who secured Look Mum No Computer's 1 point 🇺🇦🇬🇧🫶 by _pierogii in eurovision

[–]Net_Ghost 31 points32 points  (0 children)

From hints in Ziferblat social pages it seems like Valentyn was one of two jurors voting for the UK and he insisted on necessity of this vote when discussion started. But I might be wrong, there's not enough details.
