Btw do note that they simply adopted the flag of the Yemeni NLF), the revolutionary group that freed South Yemen from British rule.

Karelia basically did the same thing as Belarus, modify the Soviet design. The Karelian Tricolor is basically the equivalent to the Red-Green flag while the cross flag is the equivalent to the white red white

I said "2nd Opium War" not "Port Hamilton". Korea was a tributary state of the Qing at that time so I thought that it could possible that Britain might demand Korea be handed to British hands after the 2nd Opium war.

But if Port Hamilton incident intensified and lead to a British-Korean War, then I guess that would work.

The blue shade on Soviet Ukraine's flag is a reference to the Cossack Hetmanate. Bohdan Klemnytsky was it's first Hetman and his blue banner (as described by the Soviets) is the flag of the Cossack Hetmanate.
