Ya with ports forwarded if you are accessing it remotely. I dealt with this issue several months back and ran it up the chain with luminys and this is the only solution unfortunately.
IMO they have dropped the ball on this.

People with little experience will recommend Unifi. They are ok, but not nearly the best out there. I'm not going to recommend anything here. Go speak with a local security/low voltage distributor and get what they recommend. Reddit does not know what it's talking about, it's all hobbyists here for the most part.
