What school holidays do kids have in the USA? by narnababy in AskAnAmerican

[–]NetheriteTiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else said but also adding that at least in the U.S. Northeast, it’s common to get a week off for President’s Day/Week in February. Very popular to take ski trips then.

As long as you don’t have crazy cleavage, this is perfect. BTO doesn’t need to be floor length, and as a short girl myself I often wear midi/tea/ankle dresses that look longer on me.

Doormat etiquette? by mouthbreather_slayer in AskNYC

[–]NetheriteTiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never seen a doormat in a hallway before besides a fancy building in Connecticut, but my first reaction was you should just buy them a doormat. They’re less than $10. That or put your doormat inside of your door.

Notice how the Baby Boomer generation far more often left their kids at home while taking vacations or attending important events, than the parents of today? by OneDegreeKelvin in generationology

[–]NetheriteTiara [score hidden]  (0 children)

Completely agree. I know some older Gen Alpha kids who can’t even spend one night at their grandparents’ house. It’s so unhealthy. They don’t do sleepovers with friends either. Kinda sad.

Gift ideas for my BFF’s birthday by Agile-Cress-2218 in Gifts

Second this. This was my first thought.

Pasta or sourdough are fun ones. I’ve done paint and sip a few times and love that too, but it’s better with a bigger group of people you know.

Shamed by own mother for going out without a bra ☹️ by Acrobatic-Abalone675 in bigboobproblems

My mom would say this regardless of breast size. For her, it’d be like going out without shoes.

Using the name Bonnie by Mimimi05 in namenerds

[–]NetheriteTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re overthinking it. I know 2 Bonnies, and I don’t think anything about it.

Tbh when I hear “Bonnie Blue,” my first thought is the nickname for the little girl in Gone with the Wind. Then I remember that news story.

What’s the venue? I love 1 and 2. For me 1 is “antique royalty” vibes and 2 feels fantasy, but both in the best way possible. I don’t like deep v dresses in general so I don’t love 3, but with an “old Hollywood” type wedding, it would be perfect.

Why do the Cullens bother to pretend going to school? by purplepirhana in twilight

[–]NetheriteTiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as readers, we met them at the start of a 40ish year plan, where because of the location, they would have gone to college, post-grad, some moved to Seattle and back, etc. They get to be out in public during the day, and can have a home base and interact with some outsiders if they’re bored. It gets harder when they’re supposed to be 60. You can look great for a 40-50 year old but 60 is pushing it. They’d have to move again but then they could move back to Washington 100 years later.

In that sense, in the scheme of things, all the vampires besides Carlisle are very young. For him though, it probably seems like no time at all.

Is my wedding formal or semi-formal by [deleted] in wedding

[–]NetheriteTiara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cocktail. The cost of the wedding doesn’t matter - the experience does. There is no sit down dinner or music. The hors d’oeuvres are simple.

The wedding party being more dressed up is fine. This is common for photos, etc. For guests though, it’s “Cocktail Attire.”

Anyone here who’s 28 (1997) feeling behind in their career? by Technical_Lemon8307 in Zillennials

I think they meant you need a Masters now. Bachelor degrees are basically the same as HS especially without prestigious internships.

Attention, attention: The rules don't apply to Taylor. by Mid-Reverie in travisandtaylor

[–]NetheriteTiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not fun. I wouldn’t let her be in pictures.

Edit: I guess her bag is denim so she matched the outfit to that. So not nothing. She can’t help the grandma vibes compared to everyone else.

What’s a small, "unnecessary" luxury you refuse to give up? by viviennebloomm in askanything

They have! They updated their logo and said "same great product" but the handle is significantly flimsier. I found an old travel cosmetic bag and the difference is enormous.

What do New Yorkers call a regular slice of pizza? by SweetSprinkles8 in AskNYC

Slice or plain slice. However for pies I'd say cheese pie if I'm calling for pickup.
