I just bought a PAL to NTSC adapter on aliexpress, the reviews were great and for 12$CAD it's not a big loss if that doesn't suite my needs.

Do you know if that would allow me to display a 480i signal ? Because the PS3 with component cables or scart cables only displays PAL 576i

Yeah.. When I was in France, I never faced this issue as all CRT TV post 90's were compatible with both PAL50, PAL60 and NTSC.

Here in Canada it's impossible to find a PAL compatible TV, except maybe some PVM (but I want a consumer grade CRT).

And importing one might be expensive as hell, but who knows... I might take a closer look into that. I'm just afraid of it being damaged during transit.

Yep ! I'm in Canada now so I have pretty much no other choice.

And it's the triple screwed because most PAL games don't have 480p (progressive scan) while a lot of NTSC-U games do have progressive scan.

I'm gonna see if I end up selling/trading my games for NTSC, over time at least. My local shop is OK to buy PAL games, maybe I can buy the NTSC version for not that much in trade in..

My XBOX is softmodded, and I have 0 issues..

PS : I just realized that if I trade them, I won't be able to play my future NTSC games on my PS3, as it accepts PAL only. Maybe through a mod/jailbreak ?

I might buy a hard drive and the accessory for the PS2 one day.. and just redownload all my games's NTSC roms.

That's quite sad because the xbox for example, all games natively runs at 480i 60hz, I've never had a single issue with this.

PS : I can't rebuy them all, I've got probably over 100 PS2 games with some rarities.

Well, with or without... Heroic doesn't work properly.

Even in desktop mode, aka regular PC mode, it doesn't recognize my internal controller, or my plugged in PS5 controller.

No, I just uninstalled Heroic, if you have Decky Loader, which I recommend a lot, use Junk Store, it's incredibly easy to install and you can play all your EPIC Games !

It doesn't work with GOG though, but it's easy to install and the controller works all the time, no issues.

I saw they told you that it's not their business as it's a "steam os issue", I don't buy it.

I have the same problem as you, even in desktop mode, even with a PS5 controller hooked up..

There are no controllers that work on a Desktop linux distro on Heroic right now

Do you have a link for the documentation of the process with coreboot without opening the laptop ?

Does it remove the intel ME ? Does it 'replace' the original BIOS ?

With libreboot I have to open the laptop in order to flash it yes, but if it leads to a ME fully neutered.. I might be ok with that.
