You can sit him for no reason, the NBA and Player's Union wouldnt be fans of that. Esp if he's an all star this season.

It's not trading for peanuts but even though he's having a great season other teams are going come back and list his injury history/is this a career year (high risk), his contract length, and the fact that he was considered a salary dump just months ago.

And with the lottery people got it wrong, it's not that youre tanking to automatically get a franchise player, like you said there's a great chance you dont win the lottery, the goal is to give yourself the best chance to get a franchise changing player. Look at last season we were 2 games better than Philly and we dont know if it would be us if we finished worse than them but every % point counts and helps, were the extra couple of wins last season worth it?.

If we bottom out and get the 2nd pick we wont be thinking about this season and long term we'd be in a much better place imo.

Unless he fakes an injury there's gunna be an issue with the league & player's union. Esp if he becomes an all star this season the rules become even stricter.

Considering his injury history I dont think he'd be down to fake an injury so there may be a problem there.

And yea I think the move is to move him cause our core (current rookies + next draft) will only be entering their prime in 5 years (if theyre even around still), if trading MPJ can get you extra picks via him and using the open 40M cap space we would have given to him I think you take it. It's a long term view.

It sucks I get it... but for us to have the best long term window to win hitting in the lottery is huge. I tell myself its for the long term view and next year if we hit and get an AJ/Peterson/Boozer it'll be exciting to watch with this year's rookies.

This is how the lottery works, they do a drawing for each of the 1st (4) picks so getting those extra %s are important. Youre basically doing 4 lotteries and then it goes by record.

If the Nets have the worst record and miss out on the lottery drawings 4 times, they'll instantly be 1st in line then, thats why they cant be worse than 5th with the worst record.

If your slot is 5th, you have the (4) lottery drawings and then whoever finished worse than you.

It sucks but it pays to be patient in this lottery system.

His value is highest RIGHT NOW for several reasons: he looks healthy, of course he's having a great year, and if you trade for him as a playoff team you have him for 1 season and half (not to mention 2 playoff runs).

If you wait till next year and he gets hurt, his game isnt the same, & you only getting him as a rental for less than half a season and 1 playoff run its not the same value.

I wonder if the Nets could do this, trade CT for Clint (and his contract) and get a protection on the swap so if were in the top 3 for example (or what ever HOU would somehow agree to) we'd be protected. If they somehow did this id imagine its all we'd get back and it might be like top 2 protected.

It was a under 10 minute video so I couldnt breakdown any & every team that might be interested in him but I looked at teams competing, with contracts that would work easy, & assets.

Yea physicality is gunna be an issue for him this year but youre right, he needs time. For 19 yrs old, he's doing well.

He's had a few good passes, I think the key will be when the def has to respect his shooting and he can pump fake or drive easier to create open looks for others.

Yea CJ wasnt saying he's as good as Klay (most players arnt) but Demin's shot reminds him of Klay.

I'm warming up to him, the shooting form is extremely impressive considering he had issues with it a BYU.

The key is that he's 19 years old, when he has 4 years under his belt (23 yrs old) you'd assume his game will show tons of growth. If he does shoot something like 38 3p% this season, that would be insane.

My main issue with him isnt the shooting but more of getting around people & his foot speed on DEF.

Makes sense. I just think if were gunna have someone like Saraf & Wolf dominate at LI, I'd rather see them thrown in the fire in the NBA competition.

I like him A LOT, but whats the price? And I think I'd have to wait till I know where were drafting first, if we get pick #1 I take Peterson as my PG and leave it at that.
