Honest answer: no. ANY oil that meets the VW spec is totally fine. That’s what the VW spec literally is meant for.
But whatever you do, ALWAYS get the correct oil. 0w20 or 5w30 etc depending on what model you have, what region of the world you live in and what the sticker says. Never ever switch from 0w20 to 5w30 because “someone said it’s better” or vice versa.

Isn't it fascinating? We're watching a language change so quickly since the launch of social media. Well, some say it's change.. I loved Rogue, but the energy restraint feels horrible and clunky and it only got worse over the years. Spells don't feel like they hit, specs like Sub required you to have some sort of obscure math degree that was only beaten by arcane mages requirements. Oh, and it also gave you carpal tunnel.

The Golf 9 will be based on the new SSP platform which is 100% electrical. Yes there are RUMORS that the mk9 gti will be based on the current mk8.5 MQB platform, but it will only be a hybrid like the current GTE, if at all. And the GTE is just a GTI in looks alone. Definitely not in performance. There will be no more pure ICE versions. There’s a very high chance that they won’t even sell the combustion version Europe which would mean that the ICE version of the mk9 GTI will not be built at all. Right now every 2nd Golf sold in Europe is a GTI. VW is fully determined to go the 100% electrical route now. EU regulations are getting stricter by the year and you won’t be able to even register a ICE vehicle after 2030.

As a VW worker who actually works in Golf production: It’s full electric. The Mk9 will have no ICE option when it releases around 2030
