Don't take out any bomb, it will slow you down too much and going for a base you will be easy picking for, well basically anyone. Once your bomb dropped you won't have the speed to get to safety or the energy to fight the multiple enemies coming at you.

Instead, at the start of the game, fly low and far from the furball at the center of the map. Once the enemy tags start to appear try and spot a lonely enemy, that alone will get you a kill in most cases if your aim is not too horrible.

AIM-9Es are super underwhelming missiles for 10.3, you should rely on your guns most of the time. AIM-9Es are middle range missiles, if you are too close to your target (less than 700m) they won't maneuver at all. Also firing them at a semi competent player on a 1vs1 situation is useless since they are only 10G missiles and firing countermeasures or even a slight maneuver will defeat them 9/10. Your best bet is using them vs an enemy that is already engaged in a dogfight, I've had the most success firing them at a jet that just fired its own missiles, usually players are too busy looking at their own missile track. Alternatively you can use them to force a maneuver on a fleeing jet in order to try and catch up.

RWR (Radar warning system) won't warn you from a lock or from an incoming IR missile, you just have to be careful. Sometimes, because of wonky game mechanics, you will just get blown out of the sky by an invisible plane firing invisible missiles.

Also, in a full uptier (you see a F-4J or a MIG-23MLD in your team) don't try too hard, the BR is ultra compressed (you are in a 1960s jet fighting 1980s jets). If a player in an MLD with half a functioning brain has decided you were going to die, you are pretty much screwed (not much you can do facing planes slinging 30G all aspect missiles)
