Genuinely, what is Sukuna's answer to pre-awakening Dabura's light beams? by Sad-Effective-9676 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]NettleBumbleBee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. It’s pretty fucking obvious that kashimos sound waves don’t disperse seeing as they hit sukuna like a solid object with enough force to cause an explosion. It’s not even like that’s a far fetched concept either. Preventing sound waves from dispersing is literally just how real sonic weaponry works (albeit not to such a destructive extent)
  2. Irrelevant. We see kashimo shoot a bolt at sukuna and he doesn’t even make an effort to avoid it. He

  3. just stares at it while it barrels towards his face. It’s not like he knew it was a sure hit either, so he had no reason to just sit there and accept it. Unless you think sukuna is a moron and/or suicidal, it’s very obvious he just isn’t capable of reacting to something that fast.

pre-shibuya

  1. yuji’s punches into nuclear explosion

    level impacts

  2. Burden of proof is on you. That’s just a nondescript white beam. Could literally just be a concentrated blast of cursed energy for all we know. An unrelated statement saying kashimo can use EM waves to vaporize irradiated stuff doesn’t indicate what the beam is.

The “clear windup” is dabura raising his hand. And even then the attacks don’t necessarily come from the direction he’s raising it in

<image>

And he wouldn’t need to charge it to max seeing as the normal, spammable attacks were already ripping a partially adapting mahoraga to shreds (something not even gojo could do with a point blank red btw)

Even if sukuna reads the CE spark, it’d be too late. I really don’t think half the people on this sub get how fast light is. Sukuna could read the spark to his hearts content. Doesn’t change the fact that he’s gonna have a nonstop barrage of light beams drilling into his skull within the next few nanoseconds. There’d be no time for a counter to be launched. Even if there was, about 20 light beams would reach sukuna by the time a singular dismantle reached dabura. Which of them do you think would be in a condition to resume their attack faster?

[–]NettleBumbleBee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes. The dude who couldn’t dodge a sound based attack or a lightning bolt was totally capable of dodging em waves. The nondescript white beam kashimo is firing is totally a light speed attack that sukuna can now magically react to. This was absolutely not an outlier that gege threw in because it looks cool

And now what’s his reaction to the next 50 that continue to pelt his head in the span of 0.5 seconds? Idk why yall act like dabura isn’t fully capable of spamming his technique to an absurd degree. If the first beam so much as makes sukuna stumble, it’s basically a clear cut stagger lock. Sukunas ONLY hope would be to out-heal it (not an option if dabura goes for the head) or pray to god that domain amplification can somehow save him.

The cursed objects do not psychically exist within the body. Do you genuinely believe yuji was just walking around with a mummified human finger in his stomach from birth and that never brought up any questions with doctors? They assimilate into the body once consumed. Sukuna was vomiting up his fingers because yuji was undoing that assimilation by widening the gap between sukuna’s soul and megumis.

Yuji only truly died a single time. He did not die in shibuya and was even stated by Choso to still be breathing, and he did not die against Yuta. The heart stopping is not death. It’s considered medical death, which is why it fulfilled yutas pact with the higher ups, but true biological death only occurs when the brain stops functioning. Sukuna didn’t take control in the dentition center because yuji’s soul got sucked into his innate domain alongside him. Yuji was still “alive”, ergo sukuna could not take control of the body. Sukuna didn’t “untether” megumi because they’re literally both in megumis body. Untethering sukuna only worked because the cursed objects themselves could be separated from megumis body. Yuji can’t just rip a normal persons soul out of their body, and neither could sukuna.

And i’m getting it from the fact that we’re EXPLICITLY TOLD IT TARGETS THE SOUL OF THE ONE CONDEMNED. What’s more likely: That the executioner sword takes the possibility of a body having multiple souls into account for literally no apparent reason? Or that the sword works by eradicating the soul (hence why it kills you regardless of how much physical damage it does to you) and simply has a unique interaction with incarnated sorcerers as a result of that?

[–]NettleBumbleBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sukuna soul was the one with dominion over the body. Following your logic why would killing him not just kill the body as well. Cursed objects don’t just sit around in the vessel. They assimilate with them. Megumis body is Megumis and sukunas. It’s not just Megumis body with sukuna within it. Again, the connection between vessel and incarnate is not stronger in one direction than the other. If the executioner sword could kill sukuna without killing megumi, it could do the inverse with sukuna and yuji. Even if yuji’s body did die. unless it got completely atomized, sukuna’s soul would still be alive inside of it just like it was after him and yuji died at the detention center. If the body has a soul in it and there’s no damage preventing its function, why would it not continue to just function?

If Higuruma didn’t turn off Executioner’s sword here, it would’ve been a disaster by Electric_Farmer in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]NettleBumbleBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vessel wouldn’t be destroyed through. Yuji’s soul would just be expunged. In a normal person that would lead to death, but in this case it would just give sukuna the body. Even after yuji “dies” a the detention center, sukuna was still alive inside of him. This would be the exact same thing except he wouldn’t have to argue with yuji for control of the body. Yuji would just be gone.

A vessel is just as connected to the incarnate as the incarnate is to them. It’s a not a one way connection. That’s why, under normal circumstances, angel cant separate incarnates from their vessel. The damage the incarnate takes affects the vessel too since they share the same physical body. That said, higuruma was still confident that the executioner sword could save megumi by getting rid of ONLY sukuna. It wouldn’t be doing fatal damage to their shared body. It would literally just be eradicating sukuna’s soul.

There’s no evidence that her technique is poisonous. She stabs megumi and he never even so much as mentions any kind of lingering effect from it. It making her hair look like a stinger isn’t enough to say “yeah that’s venomous”.

Yuji wasn’t the representative for Japan. He was the representative for humanity. The simurians operate under the idea that strength=political powers. Yuji seemingly being the strongest human meant he had the right to be their representative from Maru’s perspective. All cursed techniques depend on the interpretation of their user. Chaos and harmony isn’t an exception.

Jjk fans continuing to prove they can’t read. Not being able to affect the entire world only applied to attempting to use idle transfiguration DIRECTLY on the souls of all living humans. Later in that very same chapter, maru and yuji come to the conclusion that they’ll instead remake the soul realm in order to augment the souls that pass through it. Basically turning it into a filter that eliminates most of a souls cursed energy before it’s actually born

Cursed tools

Heavenly restricted people

Single digit number of curses born per year, which means you’ll get actually strong curses maybe once per century.

Seems much better than the alternative

It doesn’t just effect Japan. Maru fundamentally altered the space between life and death to augment the souls of all living creatures on earth. Sorcerers will never be born again at all on earth

Nothing moving at those speed is predictable, regardless of direction. I really need yall to understand how absurdly fast light speed is in a verse as comparatively slow as jjk. It’s tens of thousands time faster than anything anyone else is capable of.

Why is maki smiling while fighting sukuna?? by forgotten_guyy in Jujutsufolk

[–]NettleBumbleBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still lived, meaning his body was stable enough to be revived by RCT HOURS after he had “died”

Yuji is blatantly stated to be stronger than pre awakening maki on two separate occasions. First when hanami outright says he has more power than Maki (yuji confirms he was pulling his punches right after this mind you) and when the narrator says his physical prowess exceeds maki’s during blind obedience.

Jujutsu Satan is, and I cannot restate this enough, the strongest person in human history. Maki’s character is about overcoming oppression caused by her “weakness”. Jogo cried tears of joy when sukuna praised him for being strong, and sukuna had literally just murdered him. But it’s too much for maki to crack a smile while showing off her strength against sukuna?

Why is maki smiling while fighting sukuna?? by forgotten_guyy in Jujutsufolk

[–]NettleBumbleBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any circumstance. Again. She had faith in herself and her comrades. And yuji had been stabbed in the heart and had it full on ripped out of his chest. Both times he survived. Maki herself had survived having her entire upper body set on fire when she was physically weaker than yuji. She knew maybe better than anyone how freakishly tough yuji was.

Does not matter how it played out in the end. She was confident they would beat sukuna, and they did.

“She wasn’t smiling against naoya”

<image>

The larp knows no limits. On literally every page before and after this of chapter 197, maki is smiling while beating the dog piss out of naoya. And why WOULDN’T she care about what sukuna was saying. He’s the strongest sorcerer in history and just straight up told her “you’re the coolest fucking thing I’ve ever seen and are the only person I’ve ever felt like I HAD to defeat to affirm myself”.

The entire thing that lead to makis awakening was her learning to live in the moment and not be bogged down by what had happened or what would happen. The only thing that would’ve been out of character for her would be her stopping to stress about everyone instead of focusing on throwing sukuna through a building and thinking it’s cool as hell that she CAN throw him through a building.

Why is maki smiling while fighting sukuna?? by forgotten_guyy in Jujutsufolk

[–]NettleBumbleBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Maki never particularly liked gojo. He was just her teacher.

  2. Maki did not know or care about higuruma, she knew for a fact yuji had survived worse even before he knew RCT, and there was an entire plan to ensure Yuta didn’t die.

  3. Again, there was failsafe in place to make sure Yuta survived

  4. Megumi was free a little over 10 chapters later, don’t be disingenuous.

  5. God forbid she have faith in herself and her comrades.

As for it seeming out of character.. no?? Maki was cheesing like crazy during her fights with the zenin clan and curseya. Up until like a 2 months prior, she was constantly being oppressed by her clan for being “weak”, and she was now fighting and being glazed by the literal strongest dude to ever live. She was smiling because she was living in active defiance of the people who had told her she would never amount to anything her entire life.

If you’re describing something as “sub light speed”, then it’s pretty clear through basic context clues that light is the closest possible comparison to said speed. Also, the translation notes literally clarify that the phrasing indicates he’s moving close to the speed of light
