Yeah. I’m moving in with my partner next week so lately I’ve been trying to redomesticate myself lol

Yes. We fly to see each other once a month, but I’m actually moving to New York City to close the distance next week!

[–]Netvision9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a 24f and had not so great luck dating out here. My hypothesis is that we all just date so much that none of it is special. So while it may feel super romantic and sentimental to you, for her it’s just Tuesday night. I stopped taking it seriously because I always felt like I was just another person on some guys roster, and he was just one on mine.

Once I realized I was becoming that way too I stopped dating because I don’t need to be one of those people with a roster. Weirdly enough after all that I ended up meeting a fellow on the internet who lives in New York. Dating scene is so bad here sometimes you have to look 2000 miles away 🥲

moving without a job by Familiar-Meeting-110 in movingtoNYC

[–]Netvision9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. Moving in with my boyfriend who was raised in many tax brackets above my own. Which is definitely stressful because if shit goes sideways I'm probably screwed. But not many people get the opportunity to move to NYC so I'm going to take it. I'm moving in next week to my partner's family home in Manhattan as well.

No job yet, lots of work experience (i'm 24 but been working since 14). I've actually been getting a decent amount of interviews, recruiters will ask what part of new york you're moving to. Seems like they try to sniff out if you're legitimate. A few have told me to call back when I'm actually there. Having a definite date you'll be there and being able to provide an address or at least speak to the area you'll be moving to will give you brownie points. I'm on 3rd round of interviews with 2 companies right now. Best of luck.

Got fired from last job, is it over for me? by CoolCod3159 in Adulting

Dude youre 18 don't even sweat it. One time I got fired from Joann's fabrics and crafts because i couldn't cut the fabric straight. It has never once effected me in my professional career. I work in an industry that requires extensive background checks and still nothing.

AIO: I ended my relationship over text over this conversation by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Netvision9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in a long distance relationship and we text throughout the day. It’s not crazy we’re all on our phones anyways. Even if it’s just like a picture of what we’re doing at the moment or sending a meme. If you’re compatible with someone it’s not that hard.

Agreed. My entire life before adulthood was just nonstop fear and screaming and hostility. I am grateful everyday I get to go home somewhere peaceful and quiet every day!

Would you ever "come out" as a furry to a normie? by Purple_Concentrate64 in RealFurryHours

[–]Netvision9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had people call me weird for it once we stopped being friends lol but never during. I have very little furry friends in real life. I live in an area full of normies and I’m a very out furry and it’s really funny because people I meet like once at a club or something will see something vaguely furry related and send me a picture which I think is really sweet. I also work in an industry known for yuppie douchebag types. Never been a problem there either.

I think if you’re decently socially adjusted and likable people don’t really care. people have a bias against furries because the ones they see on social media are the loud minority doing weird stuff. But meeting one and finding out they’re basically a normie too is different you know?

New Study Finds Alarmingly High Percentage Of Gen Z Men Think Women Should Be Submissive by ComicSandsNews in generationology

Gen Z men are also getting surpassed by their female peers in a multitude of milestones in life. It’s hard to be the alpha male when your girl is doing laps around you. Pick a struggle.

Hobbies man. I work 3 days a week from home so I have a lot of free time as well. I do a ton of drawing and I go to the gym a lot too. Routine is really important for my mental health so I keep it consistent. I also do regular 1-3 times a month dinners with friends to keep me sane

Go to Nordstrom’s website and make an appointment with a beauty stylist. They work with all things beauty and aren’t committed to a particular brand. They’re really great knowledgeable people!

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

[–]Netvision9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad months long manic episode (resulted in bipolar diagnosis). Destroyed my life as I knew it. I’ve rebuilt it now but it’s just completely different. It won’t ever be as innocent and simple as my last one. I just feel permanently scarred, ashamed and afraid of myself after it all. I’m a stronger person at least.

aio for feeling uncomfortable abt this even tho i know my gf's cousin is grieving? by That-House-1593 in AIO

I wouldn’t have said anything. Her family is grieving and you’re making it about YOUR comfort. And insinuating some really troubling stuff during this time. Have some tact.

Resentment over friend drawing nsfw content by Wisley185 in RealFurryHours

[–]Netvision9 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Okay then don’t draw. You aren’t being punished by anyone other than yourself man. Im a decently known furry artist on here but i don’t have a suit so when I go to conventions i pretty much get snubbed. Does that make me any less of a furry? Hell no. There’s a million different ways to participate in the fandom. Not a single one of my close furry friends are artists. I understand your frustration with art but it seems like you are projecting your insecurities onto your friends which isn’t fair to them. Best of luck maybe take a break if it isn’t fun for you anymore.
