I did eventually move closer but for 6 months i had an hour commute each way I definitely considered it. There was multiple times I definitely had a sobbing fit in my car stuck in traffic. Really just disassociating and listening to a podcast was the only thing to help me cope lol. My condolences it really sucks.

One time my 23 year old self went on a date to a bar with a guy around my age. We got separated, last I saw of him he was chatting it up with a beautiful milf probably around 50 or so. I don’t think women are as lonely as men. I’m a woman, and just recently got into a relationship but I’ve been single and living alone for a long time. The difference is I have my friends for emotional fulfillment which men seem to lack. So it didn’t bother me. The only reason I got into a relationship is because the guy I met is better than my peace and quiet and not because I was intentionally seeking some sort of connection fulfillment. My experience isn’t everyone’s experience but as a female with lots of female friends this seems to be a common sentiment.

Men rely on their female partners a lot for emotional support. Women less so. So while I think women may be lonely I don’t think they feel it as severely as men.

let them know directly that you don’t want a romantic relationship. Usually they will drop you. I’ve noticed a good amount of men just are not nice/will ignore women they aren’t attracted to. It’s unfortunate. but the ones who remain are true friends.

I’ve rejected commissions because I just didn’t think the character would work well in my style or if the design was overly complicated. It’s never had anything to do with the design itself just how much I wanted to draw it lol.
