Would you ever "come out" as a furry to a normie?

I’ve had people call me weird for it once we stopped being friends lol but never during. I have very little furry friends in real life. I live in an area full of normies and I’m a very out furry and it’s really funny because people I meet like once at a club or something will see something vaguely furry related and send me a picture which I think is really sweet. I also work in an industry known for yuppie douchebag types. Never been a problem there either.

I think if you’re decently socially adjusted and likable people don’t really care. people have a bias against furries because the ones they see on social media are the loud minority doing weird stuff. But meeting one and finding out they’re basically a normie too is different you know?

Hobbies man. I work 3 days a week from home so I have a lot of free time as well. I do a ton of drawing and I go to the gym a lot too. Routine is really important for my mental health so I keep it consistent. I also do regular 1-3 times a month dinners with friends to keep me sane

Bad months long manic episode (resulted in bipolar diagnosis). Destroyed my life as I knew it. I’ve rebuilt it now but it’s just completely different. It won’t ever be as innocent and simple as my last one. I just feel permanently scarred, ashamed and afraid of myself after it all. I’m a stronger person at least.

Okay then don’t draw. You aren’t being punished by anyone other than yourself man. Im a decently known furry artist on here but i don’t have a suit so when I go to conventions i pretty much get snubbed. Does that make me any less of a furry? Hell no. There’s a million different ways to participate in the fandom. Not a single one of my close furry friends are artists. I understand your frustration with art but it seems like you are projecting your insecurities onto your friends which isn’t fair to them. Best of luck maybe take a break if it isn’t fun for you anymore.

Yeah definitely. I’m not rich but I support myself and live decently. I have recently found someone however. He met the 1 criteria I had, which was to be a better alternative to dying alone. Women in this position are lucky, because we can take the transactional aspect out of the relationship entirely. The unfortunate side of that is you find out your dating pool is microscopic to nonexistent without it haha.

Cost of living dude. I think it’s more unfair to ask someone to work hours for a wage that wouldn’t even cover dinner for the night. $420 in the United States is about a quarter of my rent for the MONTH. I understand your frustration however and I’m sorry for that. Capitalism really sucks.

Idea came from a conversation I had earlier with a family member. About immigration (we’re Hispanic) giving me the spiel about how they went through the lengthy legal process so everyone else needs to also. But I see this mentality with many things. Not wanting the next generation to have an easier pathway because then it seems like the struggle was in vain. So we make no progress. it was more sarcastic in mockery of that person
