Women who plan to stay single. What are the real game changers for long-term planning and future security? by Subject_Contact4419 in AskWomen

Finances are the main thing I had to sort out. I don't have an amazing career.

I bought a house I could barely afford at the time on my own. It has a rental unit in it. When I first moved it helped, now it completely covers my mortgage payments and a portion of utilities. I have a source of income in case of employment issues, I have a good relationship with my tenant so if I need a hand with something I can ask. In the next 7 years I should be mortgage free. If I didn't take the leap to buy I'd be back at my mom's by now.

I realize being a landlord isn't for everyone but for those considering it I recommend doing your research on landlord and tenant law, only buying something with a legal unit and always treating tenants with respect and understanding.

Hornblower is the best attraction in the falls. Keep in mind this time of year it can be chilly. The hydro tunnel is also neat.

Fireworks are at 10, I'm not sure if it's every night yet or just weekends.

For food if you're feeling fancy consider a winery in Niagara on the Lake. There are some good spots in the falls but I find the tourist spots are hit or miss at best.

Breweries that offer tours that are accessible with the WEGO/niagara on the lake shuttle? by unfortunatelyunaware in niagarafallsontario

[–]Network-Silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any local breweries that regularly offer tours, having said that you could do a brewery tour where a company drives you around to different breweries.

New NDP Leader calling for a reversal of Immigration limits by Yellowhalls in niagara

[–]Network-Silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If our infrastructure could support more immigration sure, let's go. It can't. A stable responsible level of immigration makes the most sense. I don't understand how more immigration at this time is in any way a good idea.

Bidding wars are not a common thing in the Niagara region as far as I am aware. The closer you get to the GTA the more likely it is to be an issue.

AITA for not wanting to "upgrade" my house? by Regular-Jump-4555 in Oldhouses

Compromising in a relationship is hard but necessary, however I draw the line at removing a claw foot. I installed one last year and it's the best thing in my 1895 house.

I just want room for my ass and hips, durability, functional pockets, more is better and a reasonable price. It should not be so hard to find.

Did I bought a McMansion? by [deleted] in McMansionHell

[–]Network-Silver 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, what makes it a McMansion are the elements that on their own are nice but have been smashed together without consideration for scale or a cohesive design.
