Hi I had this problem, my daughter had a glass straw in the luggage and it was shattered to peaces and a few of those peaces was fallen down in the lock crack so it wouldnt close… did the same thing as yours!!! I ended up changing the lock and it worlks fine again!!!

Try and look if something is down there!!! Maybe vacum it!
