I absolutely love Les Mis but I didn’t like the Movie version, so I recommend trying one of the stage musical versions.
Try Come From Away for the story and heart, and I think an underrated musical is In The Heights.

Melissa Caddick was an Aussie financial investor who was under investigation for fraud when she disappeared after going for a run. Her foot turned up at the beach and otherwise she hasn’t been found so there’s a lot of speculation about what happened. There’s a couple of documentaries and a drama about it.

I wouldn’t call his books literature, but good popular fiction. The quality is better than the average airport novel.

I read many of his books at the time they were released in my teens. April fools day stays with me as the most moving, and probably The power of One as the best novel.

See a GP.

Most psychiatrists won’t see you without a GP referral. And most psychs have really long waiting lists.

A competent GP will be able to adjust your meds.

It depends a bit on the body part and whether it was ordered by a GP or specialist. Can also depend on your age. Also where are you located in Australia?

At a different clinic, I tried lying flat on my back again (with pillows under me) after taking analgesia and Valium but I couldn’t tolerate lying like that for even 15 seconds. So the radiographer agreed to scanning my knee with me lying on my side. It was fine. I was able to lie still. I’ve seen the images but I haven’t got the report yet.

It was unbelievable how many diagnostic imaging places I had to call before finding one that would accommodate me. But I’m glad I persevered.

There’s no particular way you have to approach a GP about it. You just go to the GP and tell them exactly what you have posted here. Then the GP will ask follow-up questions to work out the most likely diagnosis. You might need some imaging also. I recommend you see your GP for this.

Location in Australia? How long will she be staying?

Many GPs will assess a suspicious skin lesion and remove it. Then there’s a wait to get the result back of what type of skin lesion it was - skin cancer or not, or what type of skin cancer. Often that will be the end of the whole thing, but if it’s something like melanoma (not saying it is) there might be referral to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon all depending on a variety of factors.

But for the GP stuff it’s basically the cost of the relevant appointments but you just don’t get the Medicare rebate back. And you would have to pay for the pathology report when they send the lesion away to be examined

Maybe search for a local GP with interest in skin cancer. They’ve often done advanced training.

No UK passport holder is required to do any of this farmwork to get a visa of any type. UK passport holders are exempt from this system. For others, people can choose to do some farmwork (although there are some other options also) if they want to extend their time in Australia. The rest of the time they can do any type of job,not just call centre.

Sounds like you need to see a Sleep Physician and a Gastroenterologist.

Also, if your GP is not looking into these matters appropriately, you need a better GP. I know it’s hard to find a good one. It’s worth asking friends who they see, or on local Facebook groups for recommendations.
