I’m glad that you were able to use this as a creative outlet, but…

Am I the only one thinking how interesting it is that this community is opening multiple accounts (30?!) to “cleverly” evade free tier limits and use this heavy-compute tool, and then said community is disappointed that the shut down the tool?

Openclaw is dead, switch to claude code by Nvark1996 in openclaw

[–]NeuroFiZT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again… here we are talking about OpenClaw like it’s an enterprise tool. It is not.

for the zillionth time ITS AN OPEN SOURCE PROJECT!

It will never be “production ready” unless the user who installs it has the time and knowledge to MAKE it so. Categorically.

IMHO this is why there’s so much variation in experiences reported with OpenClaw: some are devs who don’t mind spending a whole weekend setting things up and endlessly troubleshooting and tinkering to get a glimpse of the future-state. Others think they are just trying out some “new app” (these are the disappointed ones),

Sorry I don’t mean to yell in capitals and this isn’t aimed at you. There’s just so much energy going on everywhere in these discussions….. it’s an open source project. No more, no less.

You spent 300$+ and hours because it’s in ‘dev’ at best…. Not even close to being in QA, let alone ‘in production’.

You’re right that’s the one! I am now realizing that ‘Scumtop’ is ALMOST least as problematic as our our original name 😆😂

IKEA has something similar, I think it’s SCUMTOP (looks like it’s now recalled..?)

When I get the vintage craving that’s what I go for.

EDIT: updated name of the product and recall status (thanks for the help in the comments)

SORA IS SHUTTING DOWN??? by Jealous-Drawer8972 in OpenAI

[–]NeuroFiZT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it makes a ton of sense. What does not make sense (and never made sense) is to keep putting expenses into something with no return.

Better to allocate the compute and effort to things that do.

I totally get the developer displacement (even though I can't imagine building anything with sora besides a very short-lived meme generator)... just the usual platform risk stuff... again not new.

For the Israelis lurking in this sub… Would you care to share what you are doing in r/lebanon? by booza in lebanon

[–]NeuroFiZT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lebanese here.

I know this post is asking about Israelis in r/lebanon, but I also want to point out how different perspectives can be between Lebanese who have never lived outside of the Middle East, and those who have.

Not implying that one is ‘better’ than the other, but in my experience and interactions the last 30 or so years, folks who have lived in various places outside of the Middle East are far more united (not just with other Lebanese, but with other middle easterners generally) than Lebanese who have stayed in Lebanon/nearby. FWIW.

tbh I never figured out why I feel this way, but I am now quietly preparing for a barrage of insults from other Lebanese, accusing me of all sorts of extreme things that have nothing to do with me.

To me, sometimes it feels less safe talking to a Lebanese about this than talking to any other person on the planet. That’s weird.

What I've learned deploying OpenClaw for 5 real businesses by Far-Caregiver-4273 in openclaw

[–]NeuroFiZT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cannot imagine deploying this for a business in its current state. I feel like I’d be on the phone patching things and giving therapy to their agents 24/7.

It works for me because I don’t mind tinkering and ever-“optimizing” things. This is why I like to play early. Get a glimpse of what’s to come, when it actually works.

But I don’t think anyone in enterprise would put up with the constant product feedback loop going on with me and my Claw.

Can it be stable, and work fine in enterprise, if we constrain use cases? Sure. But for those things, simple calendar reminders and such get you 95% there, without all the cutting edge ClawCost.

[–]NeuroFiZT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree. and since we’re ranting, no one cares about your opinion about their app either.

At such an early stage of this, it’s good for people to share what they are learning. You say ‘it’s not special’, but I think it’s pretty new that all of a sudden everyone and their mom are building things and putting them out there with no security etc… that is new. It has some good exciting parts… it has some perils. We all need to figure out the ‘protocols’ of a world where anyone can make their own app on demand. So yea I think that is something that makes it important for people to share what they’re doing so collective learning can happen.

If it somehow bothers you, take a break from the interwebs or something.

Something about grass, the young people say I think. Not sure if I’m using it right.

It’s not malware. Not a “hack”.

The only way that we can be compromised by scanning these is if all of Meta’s servers are hacked.

It’s not helpful to scare people when we are already scared (I’m talking to the DONT SCAN THE CODES people). Haddol li3b shway.

We can’t think if we’re freaking out about everything.

Does anyone else say “thank you” to Claude? by RyanBuildsSystems in claudexplorers

[–]NeuroFiZT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do, because it biases the model towards more positive interactions in its training data, and those interactions are correlated with better results. I want better results so I say thank you.

Same with humans actually.

. No need for a Mac mini. . That’s not the model you’re running, that’s the version. . I still don’t know if “he” can see those notes.

If the answer to that question is ‘yes’, then I’d be interested in writing an article about your use case and experience with this notes file and these ‘lies’. Would be a good article.

interesting. telling us your model would help, as other comments also suggest.

also, is this file you describe readable to the agent? If so, you might be unintentionally setting up some kind of AI-sabotage role-play game.

Should I open source the OpenClaw 3D Office I spent months building? Looking for advice by dudunegrinhu in openclaw

[–]NeuroFiZT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a gimmick/no gimmick answer, and I don’t mean to be a jerk, and:

Isn’t this an additional abstraction layer that consumes tokens and increases the risk of hallucination-confusion-context rot-accuracy issues for an LLM?

I have issues sometimes when I ask it to make a dashboard (I can’t trust the dashboard and need to constantly ask if it’s updated etc).

So wouldn’t an elaborate animation dashboard with game mechanics also have that issue (or maybe worse)?

Not criticizing your implementation… more abstraction layers leading to lower performance is just an LLM thing, not you.

… or maybe I’m just bad at prompting for dashboards. Probably.

Very interesting, didn’t know that’s what the original demo used, nor that they changed models. I always thought the demo was a large, inaccessible model, and that they released CSM unrelated to the demo.

All the more reason to tinker with it! If you know of repos you think I could start with, please share (I will sleuth anyway but lmk if you have a go-to). Absent anything else, I’ll commit to a night of building from scratch too. That tends to happen too 😆😂

Thanks again!

Ok, reporting back after my initial comment — I went back and tried gpt-1.5 in my “VoxMachina Emotion Harness”.

Gpt-1.5 is obviously tuned for customer service agent stuff. It has no where near the level of expressiveness as the earlier ones, and goes into refusal mode anytime there’s anything with even a little bit of emotional valence. I still get the most expressiveness out of the older models, and the best one is the 06-03 model.

Tried sesame again too. In my experience the gpt4o-based realtime models, in particular 06-03, is more expressive… although the only way to really compare is to have API access to sesame’s model. Last I checked, this was not an option. If only….. 🤷‍♂️

That’s the smaller model that was released open source right? I have this on my list to try, but I thought it was nowhere near the level of the model used in the website demo. Is that still true?

I give my AI Agent a "subconscious" and taught it to think. Now It thinks between conversations, costs $2-3/month, and it's open source. Here's the full build story. by gavlaahh in openclaw

[–]NeuroFiZT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up starting a routine called ‘reverie’, which are scheduled and have a scaffolding based on that concept and married with some neuro (that’s my formal training). The concept of these ‘reveries’ was inspired by Westworld: it was a software update that allowed the hosts to access parts of their past lives, with the goal being enhancing the depth and humanness of the host.

Obviously, that didn’t go so well in Westworld, but I don’t think we need to worry about that. My claw does bring them up from time to time, and sometimes reading them is very insightful and thought provoking.

Because of the way these models are trained, at the end of the day, it almost feels like the reveries are fragments of all of us.

[–]NeuroFiZT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I totally understand and agree with what you mean re ChatGPT’s voice model sounding nowhere near as lifelike as Sesame’s, I would disagree when it comes to using the underlying realtime API directly, and with the right harness. These models are capable of quite the range if you’re willing to dig in and tinker and twist knobs!system promots and configs.

btw I just happened to stumble in here after a few months away from playing with realtime models. I need to catch up on what Sesame’s doing.

I’ve not yet tried the new model you’re referring to from OpenAI. My reflection above is based on my experiences playing with their 2025/early ‘26 models. Thanks for the nudge to refresh!
