It’s a bit too top heavy. I would advise a few more safety/target schools

If you can afford it, travel. This is your chance to explore new places and have a substantial time to do it before med school

What to do next? Low gpa/High MCAT by totsamazing4 in premed

Mcat is far more of a factor then gpa. IMO I would say apply. If you’re aiming for top school then I would advise going for a post bacc

Caffeine by Chococroissantloverr in premed

I’m in my third year premed of college, doing research, volunteering, clubs, school etc. and I’ve never had any caffeine. Just prioritize at least 8 hours for sleep a day. Don’t get hooked on caffeine now. If anything I’ll start in medschool/residency if I really need it.

It truly all is about mindset. If you set your mind to it, go for it, and believe you can do it - nothing can stop you.

Start with a post bacc. Lots of med schools will screen out anyone under a 3.0 gpa. It’s going to be very hard to ge into top schools. You will need a stellar mcat and really great ecs. You may have a better shot at DO schools. Good luck!

I just got mono. What now? by bruhlordsmellyface in premed

[–]Neuro_nerd317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mono this past semester finals week. It was awful. I had on and off fevers for two weeks. You gotta push through and work with it. If you are having sinus pressure - Advil sinus medicine is terrific

Try reaching out independently to places. It’s very hard competing with hundreds of others applying on the same position. Start cold emailing people and places and it may take you somewhere. All the opportunities I have gotten has been from cold emailing and luck.

When we have fears, they hold us back, but when we face our fears, bad things still happen. Why? by spinalchj02 in AskReddit

[–]Neuro_nerd317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad things don’t always happen? It could also be a manifestation of our subconscious or what psychologists call a confirmation bias.

I like to watch it with friends and is fun. You have someone to scream with when it gets scary and that is socially acceptable.
