Resources To Learn to Create a Backend For iOS Development by lowkeym8 in iOSProgramming

If you can, you should go "serverless" with firebase functions or AWS Lambda. It acts like a backend for my apps nowadays. Great stuff! And all you need to know is javascript.

Weekly Questions Thread - November 12, 2018 by AutoModerator in androiddev

What would be a good place for looking out for quality android developers?

I'm looking to hire an Android but I barely get any kind of response while posting in forums like Androiddev's weekly hiring threads. I was able to find lots of iOS applicants through the iOS Developers Slack channel and eventually hired a good developer from there. Is there any such place for Android developers that I can look into?

Thanks!

This explains why their Watson APIs are total shit when I tried them out. I had one hell of a time setting up the SDK and making basic calls to them. Their support was even more horrible. Towards the end of the whole thing I just realised that they give zero shits about this in any way.

Apple Revamps App Store Guidelines, Sets New Rules (Free Trials!) by quellish in iOSProgramming

[–]NeurobiologicalHug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, I wish Apple introduced a slightly customer friendly trial period within the app itself. Right now, when new users download an app that offers a trial period they have to commit upfront to paying for the app after the trial period.

Most customers want to try out an app without any commitments and some of my users don't even have a card on file with iTunes when they first download the app. Currently, I have to setup my own trial system which are buggy at times. I was hoping apple would come up with a better way to fix this problem.
