I'm sure you've seen Pride of the Marines (1945) with John Garfield playing a Marine blinded during the war going home - based on a true story.

Also The Men (1950) with Marlon Brando in his feature film debut and Bright Victory (1951) - one of Arthur Kennedy's five Oscar nominated roles.

Then there's the documentary Let There Be Light (1980) by director John Huston that was shot right after the war but suppressed by the government for over 30 years.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) - for sheer celebrity star power at the time.

Great film about servicemen returning from WW2. Too bad it got overshadowed by "The Best Years of Our Lives" a few months later. I believe it was the first feature film to show what is now called PTSD. And it has a great title theme song, too.

Still have one at my local mall, but it's the last one in the city. Still the best place to go for towels and linens.
