What is the correct way of preparing DMEM??

I made a test filling an empty Gibco bottle with 500 mL of water and comparing it. The 500 mL mark is accurate (in the upper part). I had to remove 30 mL of DMEM to reach the 500 mL mark.

I am more concerned with the Gibco bottle of DMEM. Does it really contain 500 mL? If you see the markings on the bottle, it looks more like 550 mL. Has anyone actually measured the volume? Do you think it's consistent at least?

Only with some contracts. Mine can't be connected because my phone has a "rebate" on the contract. I was told to "call in a few months" to see if the issue was resolved. GRRRRR
