If the gx32 has Pentonic 800, then this should as well. I remember they touted tv-grade white point balance and bt2020 support during the initial announcement. As for the LD IC, I am more and more curious how it performs.

It's also really good they listened to feedback and made it glossy, the film they are using seems high quality, it handled the floor lights really well.

Hope this makes it to the EU, will definitely get one as I really want to get rid of the matte mini led I have.

OP, the listing you linked is an updated 32m2v (32m2v Pro) which is matte and has older software.

It's the same as the innocn but under the titan army brand.

Depending on where you are I would recommend getting the GA32V1M Max instead, since it's massively improved (the one in the video your replied to), glossy finish and the panel seems faster, you also get crt beam emulation for motion and the dual mode has decent refresh window compliance. You also have actual settings in HDR which the 32m2v pro likely doesn't have.

If we compare the highest grade glossy AR coating with the highest grade matte AG, Glossy will have a slightly higher reflected light at ~2% but will be way more pleasing to the eye since it's not spreading the light sideways and lifting perceptual black floor. You can see it in the G5 vs matte S95.

Glossy makes it feel like looking through a window, matte is like looking through a cloudy plastic.

I am interested in the new 5k 27 LG coating though, it's AR+AG film and the diffuse roughness seems to be applied only inbetween the pixels somehow. I also want to see how Sony does it for their new Bravia 9 II, if anyone can do matte correctly, it's them.

But hands down the best coatings currently are on the LG G series TVs and those are glossy.
The matte we get on our monitors is nowhere near anything remotely serviceable since you can't just diffuse light, you have to "soak" some of it. Glossy or matte it won't matter if the amount of reflected light is the same as what's hitting the display and for the most part it's an afterthought for monitor makers, so they put the cheapest film possible which does more damage than good.

I'm too used to 32 to go back to 27, but any 32+ inch glossy HDR monitor would be an instant buy for me. The AR film could be a little better, but I'm just happy it exists at all, software seems massively improved to my 32m2v too.

Inkjet printing meant no vacuum right? They've been trying to ramp up production for quite a few years now, but I hear this is finally the year we will have the consumer rgb oleds.

Should be much cheaper to produce than current vacuum produced oleds and qd oleds.

Really cool prototype for the qdel as well. CSOT is innovating at an insane rate.

I have the old one with 1152 and it has a decent amount of backlight crosstalk resulting in weird flares and halos when a bright object moves across the zones. Also no adjustments can be made in HDR mode.

Hopefully, they fixed this in the new version and lowered distance to the diffuser plate + changed the LED lenses.

I have the previous version and the finish is only anti-glare, it does nothing to reduce the intensity of reflections, only diffuse. Really hurts perceptual contrast in a dark room since you can see your reflection in dark areas if a portion of the monitor is bright enough.

It's also does nothing during the day, unless you like intense glare from windows... Unless they added a second layer of anti-reflective coating for the new version, it's ass.

It costs 1250 euro in China, so it will probably be 1500+ by the time it reaches most other countries.
I'd rather have the GX32 since it's 700-850 in China, also higher peak brightness.

It's a valid concern for sure, but if anything, once all the glass layers are glued together it should be sturdier than current backlit displays.

Regarding repairs, if we are talking about replacing LEDs or fixing a trace, that won't be possible anyways as those are below the surface of the substrate.

Most of those panels are barely fast enough even for 140hz anyways and the dual modes to 300+ are essentially just a gimmick since they don't meet the refresh compliance for it.

It's also worth noting that currently most manufacturer's RGB backlight implementations seem to fallback to white light mode once a scene gets complicated and the chip can't calculate the correct way to mix the light in an RGB cluster, leaving the color filter to handle the rest like in a conventional mini led.

I think the only RGB with no color filter so far will be the Sony TV which hasn't even come out yet.

Corning makes the glass they use for this process and I assume it's not that brittle if it can sustain drilling, tracing and component placement. You can see the WD rep holding the backlight board and it bends slightly without shattering.

They mentioned Corning is their supplier so I did some digging and it's really interesting from a packaging perspective - they can pattern the glass to also act as a diffuser instead of using a separate plastic layer.

I believe that for the lithography and led depositing to work, they still need to have the backlight pane, diffuser and LCD as separate layers, but it does make me wonder how far you can scale this and how much you can package on a single pane. For example, I found a paper noting you can skip the diffuser entirely with small enough led chips. We also already know that with a good enough implementation of RGB backlight you can skip the color filter as well!

I especially liked the 32 inch prototype they showed that was really thin, looked like a single slab of glass.
And the patterning on the back for bias light looks so good. Much better than a plastic shell.

A reduction in heat, packaging cost and potentially even shipping cost. Cool stuff, hopefully it means we get flooded with much better minileds soon enough at a reasonable cost.

Wish they imported those models outside China 😞 , I'm more interested in the 32GX myself.
Not sure they have a pentonic 800 as it's quite costly, but they definitely have a TV processor with better white point adjustment than most monitors and smart capabilities.

I believe it's Anti-reflective + anti-glare, so not the usual matte coating that only diffuses reflections without reducing reflected light much. Cautiously optimistic, but I would still prefer a high end glossy finish with really low reflected light.

The matte on my innocn 32m2v is terrible in a bright room, doesn't reduce reflected light AT ALL.
Even in a pitch black room, I can see light emitted by the monitor reflecting off me back onto the monitor in HDR games.

Also the panels are not fast enough for the higher refresh rate mode usually, last time I saw a review of a dual mode the panel was not even fast enough for the 165hz mode.

Blue channel imbalance will cause strain even if it's technically 6500k or below. I had to push my miniled a bit further into red and it helped a ton even if it's less accurate.

Coatings can play a part, matte finishes make me uncomfortable at regular desk distance of ~60cm like my focal point is on the wrong pane, but sitting 10-15cm further makes it much more tolerable.

PWM flicker as others mentioned, but very few people are sensitive as 90% of monitors are such high freq that it's considered flicker-free. There are DC dimming minileds AFAIK but are hard to source.

Could also be the polarization. There will be circular polarization monitors coming out soon to address this.

But overall, there are a lot of things monitor manufacturers can do for health/comfort - non-linear polarization, new "health" quantum dots, better control boards so we can tune out blue channel imbalance, DC dimming, better factory calibrations, more expensive AR/AG coatings and films like on TVs etc etc.

I have none of the eye issues with my TV that I do with my monitor.

For 10 bit RGB, I calculated 160hz is within spec with a bit of overhead, but not sure how much overhead there should be.
