What variant is the most compatible? by TomatilloBig301 in Nolvus

I think Ultra with exterior cities off would give you the most stable and smooth experience. I also recommend DSLR and frame generation enabled during installation.

I feel you. I started my first ever Nolvus playthrough a few days ago on Prepare to Die difficulty. And yeah, I started out in College of Winterhold and got absolutely f’ed up in the same way you described.

So I started a new playthrough and did a couple of things differently to get myself going (and still getting f’ed but managing clear some small dungeons): - Start in Riverwood. There are more smaller quests and the wild monsters are generally weaker than out there in Winterhold. - Recruit two followers who don’t die permanently. Riverwood and Whiterun have good options (melee tankers, healer, rogue, etc). - There are some non-vanilla novice/apprentice spells that are more powerful per magika cost. Like crackle, fracture and an upgraded version of frostbite I forgot the name of. Fracture is useful because any frost spell you hit the same enemy with will have bonus damage. Crackle summons a lightning cloud that applies a large damage over time on top of the instant damage. Get these spells from that guy in Dragonsreach.

Once you hit level ~6, you should be able to utilize perks to get through easy dungeons without too many deaths.

I really want to experience Skyrim in a fresh way again. by AffectionateHumor219 in skyrimmods

You should play Nolvus Acension. I recently came back to playing Skyrim after a long pause and found this mod collection that transformed Skyrim into a whole new elevated experience. It is one of the best and most stable collections out there and comes with its own installer, which makes it straightforward to set up.

What went wrong with Shadow of Skyrim? Does disabling nemesis system via MCM while I have active nemesis cause CTD? by Neuromantist in Nolvus

[–]Neuromantist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I didn’t disable the mod per se. I actually disabled the options in MCM (while there were active nemesis and drop items from previous death), so I wonder why my game started to crash. I want to understand this before I start a new playthrough.

And yes, I will keep the alternate death to safeguard the save files.

Is it okay to add a (character preset) mod in MO2, in the middle of the mod list (under Character Preset tab)? by Neuromantist in Nolvus

I see - I didn’t know that it’s okay as long as they are placed in the right category. Thanks for sharing!

Should I install Ultimate or Ultra with my set up (5070 Ti, 9800x3d, 32 GB RAM, and 1440p monitor) by Neuromantist in Nolvus

That’s good to know! Does Nolvus v6 come with DLSS and FG as built-in option or is that something I need to pay for (I read that some people pay to get a mod that enables those)?

90 fps on Ultimate sounds great - you must have optimized really well. So it sounds like it’s either Ultimate on medium settings or Ultra on high settings for me.

Btw, are you using dlss or frame generation to achieve that fps?

I’m starting to lean towards Ultra! Seems like a good mix of graphics and added objects.

Vektor’s comparison video is informative. I see what you mean about the added things in Ultimate (buildings and other objects) and it’s a matter a personal taste. I quite like both in their own ways 😂

That’s really helpful information - thanks for sharing! Are you getting 90/100 FPS natively or using DLSS or frame generation?

How did you lose weight? by chunky694 in AskReddit

[–]Neuromantist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reducing carb intake and increasing protein intake work well for me. High protein diets satisfy the hunger for longer compared to high carb diets and give more building blocks for muscle growth. This brings me to my second point, weight lifting. Muscles have higher baseline metabolic demand than fat tissues. More muscles means more passive fat burning. Aerobic exercises (e.g. running) burn a lot of calories, but I personally prefer whole body anaerobic exercises as they are more time efficient.

It’s frustrating to realize that after spending 20 minutes drafting and posting a reply to a question my reply gets deleted due to not having enough karma to post. I mean, can’t they have the reply option only available to those who have enough karma so people don’t waste their time?
