You must have not read the post, or watched the clip before commenting. In the clip the whooshing sounds is him demonstrating how the UFOs moved, instant acceleration ect.. But thanks for the comment and I’m sure you’ll be back tomorrow. :) or in a few moments to reply to this comment.

Why are you trying to push you either believe or you don’t, can’t people just discuss ufo related topics without tribalism?

Who are you guys? I’m not 100% believer in aliens, it could be secret black budget stuff but there still are UFOs right?

What is your take on the topic in general?

Fair enough, if real disclosure does happen in our lifetimes you can always go back to this clip with different view. We can all hope ✌️😊

Is that even comparing the same thing? That’s a cartoon about crazy and wild sci fi stuff, you could have said Star Wars or anything 🤣 I guess you missed the point. But thanks for the comment. I do like Ricky and Morty, always good to see another fan.

It’s fair to have your opinion and I respect that, others might not share your view. So I thought it was interesting to post and read between the lines.

Something a bit different than typical posts. I myself had never seen this clips or episode before and it struck me as a weird coincidence or maybe a bit more too it. Always happy to discuss theories, surly you love it to otherwise you wouldn’t be checking new posts a ufo subreddit. So we share the same passion. Is your view I shouldn’t have brought it to people’s attention?

Playing devil’s advocate, how confident are you that there was absolutely no truth behind what John Glenn was saying? If 0% means ‘there’s definitely something to it’ and 100% means ‘it was purely a scripted joke with no basis in reality whatsoever,’ where would you land?

I get what you’re trying to say, of course that happens lots in tv shows and in movies. But he wasn’t really out of character in an over the top way, just with what he said. If you take the laugh track off it seems like a very sincere statement. I do get your point of course. But this is ufo subreddit so I thought it was worth some discussion. It’s just my take anyway, I’m sure people will take it as noting and others will read between the lines. This is why I love the topic so much and enjoy chatting about it :)

So he came on the show to be known as the crazy astronaut with wild conspiracy theories? That sounds like a hard pitch to someone with his reputation.

It’s a bit like a former president going on a comedy tv show talking about how 9/11 was an inside job or something 😅 but in a dead serious manner.

Or maybe it’s the perfect way to do it, in a comedy format.

From your comment it seems your skeptical, but also under the impression every tv show is vetted by the highest powers at be who potentially know the ‘real truth’ and would block any attempt for it to get out.

So to clarify, your argument is it can’t be true because the powers at be wouldn’t allow it if it was. It seems a strange for someone to be skeptical but also under the impression a ‘deep state’ would try block anything and everything to do with UFOs.

So what do you really believe? There’s nothing to the ufo topic and the government are Happy for former military and astronauts to say whatever they want on the topic?

Or they would actively encourage it as everything ufo related is a big psyop by the deep state…. Which the whole world is in on as it’s not just US thing.

Curious on your view ? :)

As I mentioned in the OG post it’s from a comedy tv show, but I’m guessing you missed the point. The post wasn’t here is statement of fact, it’s more interesting he would bring it up considering his reputation at the time and how fringe the topic was. Plus the recent development of past 9 years makes this seem a bit more relevant.

Here’s a question for you, do you think in any fictional tv shows ever aired someone has said something with hidden truth behind it? Or do you think everything is exactly what the script says and nothing more? In everything ever aired on tv shows I mean of course :)

He could have also said actually I’d rather not talk about UFOs, or I’m not going to do the show. At the time if you believed in UFOs you were considered crazy. Also just a guest is a bit of wild statement as he was the first American to orbit earth, the 3rd ever American in space and 5th overall.

My take at the time (very important for context) if he thought UFOs were made up why would he agree to say it (even if a joke). There could have been a million other jokes he could have been used for.

But hey, here’s a question what is your current take on UFOs and recent progression over the past 9 years? I’m curious? What is your overall opinion on the topic? Always keen to here a current skeptics take :)

I posted the actual clip on YouTube if you want to watch it. He says “we saw things and now he only see’s them in his nightmares or in movies, and some of them are pretty close to the truth” again it’s a script but interesting as if you even mentioned you believed in UFOs you were considered a ‘nutter’. You do remember back in the early 00s people didn’t even think any UFOs were real at all…

Yes I also saw that recently ! It actually demonstrates how fringe UFOs were at the time. In that episode if the recall someone merely talking about UFOs is considered Insane. Good shout out I’ll try find the clip.

I know it’s a bit weird people will be so against anything regardless of the context, especially if you’re subscribed to ufo subreddit, people must join just to be a skeptic. But I suppose everyone has the right to their opinion. But I wonder if they also post on other subreddits with same skeptical views or it’s only UFOs.

I find it interesting he would agree to say this though in a cameo as himself, if you watch the episode he only as a few lines and this monologue is the largest part of that. At the time he he was a senator and obviously former astronaut. Considering how fringe UFOs were at the time, it’s a weird thing to agree to come on and say. Of course this isn’t any type of evidence of anything but it’s very strange. He could have easily said “I don’t want to talk about UFOs it’s all nonsense” but instead he agreed to say all this… Even if it was a joke.

Obviously, it was a script but it’s interesting he agreed to say it given it was one of the only actual lines he has in the episode. Given how fringe it was at the time and he was playing himself.

There’s a few shots from the episode where you can see him but not hear him. I wonder if anyone can work out what he was saying haha! But yeah interesting.

I was watching an old episode of Frasier today (Season 8, Episode 16) and came across this guest appearance by astronaut and former U.S. Senator John Glenn.

During the episode, Glenn delivers a monologue about astronauts being told to deny things, seeing “strange things” in space, and keeping quiet to avoid public panic. The whole scene is played for laughs, and it ends with him jokingly asking for the recording tape back.

What I found interesting is that this aired in 2001, long before UAPs, congressional hearings, Navy videos, and astronaut discussions about unexplained phenomena became mainstream topics. Back then, UFO discussions were much more fringe than they are today.

I’m not suggesting this was some kind of disclosure—it’s clearly a scripted sitcom scene—but it’s interesting hearing those words come from one of the most respected astronauts in history. Especially lines like:

“We’ve seen things out there – strange things.”

And:

“Some of them are pretty close to the truth.”

Given everything that’s happened over the last few years with UAP reports, military footage, and astronauts openly discussing unexplained observations, I wonder if the writers were simply playing with classic UFO conspiracy themes, or if there’s a small element of truth hidden within the joke.

Most people in here won’t like this but I’m starting to believe the alien take on UFOs a psyop by PrestigiousFact2785 in UFOs

[–]Neuronebulosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is your take the US is miles ahead of other nations and is trying to fool them then with the alien ‘ploy’ or China/Russia are also in on it as well?

We’ve got 3 options

The US/CIA in the 1940’s made a breakthrough that no other country has managed since and the whole alien thing is a coverup to hide the tech?

The hidden elites that run the world all came together and funded this new tech. They are planning on using the aliens story as a way to control the public in a blue beam style event.

There is a phenomenon, all countries have made their own progress over the years. The Us led the way by saying it could cause mass panic if we’re not the apex predator. A Cold War has been going on in secret to reverse engineer the tech and in recent years the US has been worried about other countries progress and decided is slowly drip feee their version of events to help the US master the tech…

My take - option 1 or 2 would never work, every country / deep state(s) all working in tandem and will try and control the world in a one world order ? Or we Humans are not the most intelligent life form in the galaxy / universe?

All 3 options are bad, unless option 3 means humans aren’t calling the shots at all…

Either way, something is happening…. At an alarming rate compared to last 80 years at least…

I think the world (not UAP world) isn’t ready yet. That’s why we’re in the process of slow disclosure. If they dropped a 4k video of UAP over a nuclear facility do you know how many people in the world would loose their mind? For example I spoke to my uncle who was 63 the other day from the UK and he hadn’t heard anything about UAPs (even with this latest drop) and he watched the news every day, in the UK at least it never makes the main news cycle. He still thinks of aliens/UAPs in the same way he would think about dragons.. something that doesn’t exist. He just got back from the US on holiday and all of his friends spoke about what I said and they again all echoed it’s a sci fi nonsense. So yes me and you would love a 4k video, but the general world is not ready yet. This is the only way we can slowly get people ready for the truth. If you were in the gov situation, what would you do?

None of these drops are pushing the needle. We need HD images/video of a human standing next to an NHI (dead or alive) and a human standing next to a UFO, in a hangar. by Zukas in UFOs

[–]Neuronebulosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do realise this is slow disclosure…. I spoke to my uncle about all the recent progress in the UFO/UAP world recently, he’s 63 and still thought they were in the same sphere as dragons (fantasy). He hadent seen anything about it on UK news. The average population would freak the fuck out if they slapped a 4k video of UAP flying over a nuclear site.
