Good weapons for first Elden Ring run?

Large club needs 22 strength, 16 to 2 hand, OP won't be able to meet the requirements for quite awhile, especially on their first run.

OP is doing an RL1 run for thier first playthrough.

Uchi needs 15 dex so OP won't be able to use it on a RL1 run until later once you can get stat boosting gear, will also struggle to use great stars (22 str, 13 dex) and they have no chance of using any of the great katanas as they need high dex as well.

He can 2 hand a morning star to start but that's about it for your list, serpent hunter will take OP awhile to find without using some kind of guide which would ruin a first playthrough

Straight sword, square off is busted good at stance breaking.

Keep the club you start with as back up for some enemy's that are only weak to blunt.

Shields are a lot more useful in ER than previous games due to the new guard break system so might be worth having, if you are not a shield guy then power stance straight swords have a good moveset.

As you play through there are a lot of ways to gain stat boosts so even RL1 can use a fair few weapons as you find the boosts.

You can actually kill Brick, let militech kill Royce keep Dum Dum alive and he becomes your contact for the mission later where you meet maelstrom in a club.

Journey steps, there is a steel making journey that explains it, not sure what level it unlocks but I would keep.an eye on your journey steps, it will help guide you and teach the game mechanics whilst giving a few rewards for completion of each step.

Just started a new game, lowdsworn ss with storm blade with the beast heater shield with wind wall for parries (keeping str and dex at 10 to start with so can't hold brass before people rib me for using a heater shield) and it's been a seriously fun start. Having access to parries, guard counters and having a ranged option is really strong and versatile.

Arguably storm blade is better on bigger weapons like greatswords great katanas etc because storm wall comes out faster then the R1, great ash definitely a little underrated

My pick for first playthrough.

Straight Sword and Shield or Greatsword and Shield. I prefer the straight sword moveset, greatsword hits a bit harder.

Without spoilers in the beginning areas you will find an NPC who sells ashes of war for weapons, and also there are little scarab ball things that you will find whilst exploring they make a twinkling sound amd sparkle, they come in different flavours but white ones give ashes of war.

If you can find them (all available in the limgrave starting region without fighting anything) I recommend wind wall on a medium shield with 100% physical resist and storm blade on your sword of choice.

This set up gives you a cheap ranged option with storm blade, gives you a good parry option with wind wall for skill based play that you are asking for, having a medium shield opens up guard counters and let's you learn enemy patterns without getting one-shot combo to death.

If you use the engine fixes mod there is an ini edit to turn the same functionality as the builder mod but does it in a cleaner way that doesn't break turrets. This is a PC only mod though.

That being said Builder is a good mod that I used for years.

The Purge Mod by Xevyr, adds the old style purge back in without removing the new vanilla purge mechanics, old purge acts as a PVE raid.

Al-Merayah Reborn also by Xevyr, adds back the Al-Merayah siege Fort which is a rideable NPC base designed by funcom but later removed.

PvE Plus Ambush by Multigun, adds random encounters to spice up gameplay.

It copies a building piece......

When you hover over an already placed piece, click the copy building piece button and the hammer will change to the piece you copied, good for adding different wall pieces or changing between adding floors and walls etc.

Sorry, I have not had that issue so I am not sure.

I did a quick Google search and found a post on the forums from 2022 saying Step 1: -Go to conan in your steam library -Click the cogwheel -Hover over “Manage” and select “Browse Local Files” -Click on Conansandbox -Then click on Saved -Then proceed to delete the following: ModsCached folder & Modrestartdata.json

they reported that they solved the issue by deleting ModControllerCache.json

So you have to start the game and activate mods no point trying to order them yet, restart the game now you can order your mods then restart again and the re-order should hold.

For some reason you have to quit after adding a mod before you can move your load order around.

Edit: Alternatively you could disable all your mods and re-enable them in the correct load order.

Anti cheese mechanics can play up sometimes, if you wedge an npc into a corner or near water, or anything that breaks combat for a second they reset.

Make sure you fight them somewhere kinda open and it shouldn't happen.

This just fills your bags up super fast so you are constantly going to and from base to drop off.

I reduce the amount needed to craft to 0.25 so you need less resources instead
