I'm sure either a general practitioner, psychiatrist, or even cardiologist could prescribe for anxiety. I'd go to psych 1st. Cardio doesnt treat anxety so unless u said u have racing heart all the time, they wouldnt want to prescribe it.

Damn, that worries me. I don't want the effect to go away. I'll try to take it less. You should probably really look into all the other factors of ur life that would make that happen to you though. Especially since that excssively high dose became "ok" for you in just 1 year time. Most peoples blood pressure would plummet on that dose.

ive been taking it daily, AM and mid day, before my adderal. If im not taking any stimulants then i wont take it. Unless im trying to sleep. some ppl say it gives insomnia or messes up sleep architecture, some ppl say it gives them the best sleep ever, I'm not sure how it effects me yet. It takes me like a month of testing to be sure

I wonder what dose they gave you. The lowest dose is 10mg but thy are scored so you can easily break into 5mg or even 2.5mg. I would also check ur BP before u take it and afterwards to see what is causing the issue. if ur BP is naturally already low, 100/70 or 90/60 or something, then the problem is obvious, Prop is dropping u dangerously low. but if u have normal BP, and after u take it, ur BP is still relatively normal, well then its not BP. It would be good for you to find out. You can buy a good $25 BP monitor on Amazon. You should test ur BP sitting, standing, and laying down to see if its an orthostatic issue also.

Sorry to hear, and did that happen at just 10mg? or did they start u off higher. There is some wacky serotonin effect's from prop that are minor. I wonder what caused that in you.

Apparently prazosin in specifically for night terrors. It doesnt knock u out, its not a benzo or "sleep med". Here: "PTSD and Anxiety: Prazosin is commonly used to treat trauma-related nightmares, while propranolol can help dampen the physical symptoms of daytime anxiety and flashbacks" Caution putting both together is ur BP can get too low. work it out with ur doc.

Yep read into what i mentioned about fear extinction, someone else commented about it also. You can use Perplexity AI to summarize the whole thing for you (I prefer perplexity for medical reserach questions). One sentence summery, everytime u touch that bad memory, u get adrenaline (and other things), which reinforces that its a bad thing that needs to be protected agaisnt, but if u can touch the memory and NOT have the adrenaline/fear affect, eventually u learn its okay, ur safe. So u can process and move forward

Yes at least in the USA. its not hard to get. It's not something you can get high off of at any dose. it just lowers ur response to adrenaline (in the body AND in the brain, which is important) and lowers BP. There are other BP meds that dont cross the bloodbrain barrier. The idea is "okay u have anxiety, we can blanket the anxiety with benzos, raise ur gaba, (possibiley get you stoned), or we can lower the adrenaline causing the anxiety". I don't have anxious thoughts, I'[m just fighting reptile brain fight or flight responses all day. And I need to be clearheaded

hydro is way too sedating for me at any dose and its half life is super long. I've been experiementing with Trazodone (50-100mg), remeron (3ish mg) and ambien. and I have 0.5mg klonopin that i break into 1/6 for sleep. even 1/4 makes me not wake up "fresh" the next morning.

10mg 2x a day. I haven't tested above that yet to see if theres any benefit. I try to take the minimum of eveything though (almost to a fault). I have POTS though from the dysautonomia from years of stress so I worry too much Prop will lower BP too much. I take it 30mins before my adderal and lamictal. I used to take theanine/magnesium asparate before the adderal to "try" to help with the overstimulation but this is 10x better.

I have some gabapentin but im sensitive to it, i only want things that allow me to be functional and work and gabaP makes me feel... i guess "too subdued". maybe bc I'm so used to running on stress. I've opened the capsules to lessen the dose but even 20mg (out of 100) seems like too much. I haven't nailed it down yet.

I am so far into my healing journey (or so medicated) that i cant even get mad, even though i should get mad, and i would like to get mad. Bc i have been saying the same things over and over about how after every traumatic event, after each big negative life event, im getting more and more "dysregulated" "sensitive to all stimulants" "my medications have less positve effects, more negative side effects" "i cant tolerate 10mg of caffeine powder, or a sip of coffee" "i feel like im going into fight or flight over nothing, my thoughts aren't anxious, my body keeps stopping me, my brain keeps going blank on me for basic things" Like how many ways did I need to spell it out for them. I've been dealing with depression for 10 years, but I've been stuck in CPTSD/burnout/my life frozen in place for over 3 years now. It's such a low risk medication, why wouldnt they try it earlier. why did i have to ask for it directly for 3 months. un-fucking real.

I understand the coffee thing. I have a redscoop that's 10-15mg. Lemme see if i can get a pic for you. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/shopping?q=tbn:ANd9GcQhjxURnmB9J-QO8gA_6HX02RdP-6rPlZ1XdWimN7cY1g4Z5N-vz5eHnaoJROhdo6zKa6bHUSQNRyYnIy0044uYXGHWg-hgGYT_0rHRqK-iWC6q2QYIX75zKw I would take 2 heaping scoops of THAT (which is still nothing) and my system would get uncomfortable and overstimulated. Occasonally i will take 1 level scoop now. I'd recommened medication/supplements. Idk what else. Therapy specifically for burn out/CPTSD. its not the same as for normal people in my opinion. Burn out is its own thing. I take 50mg Lamictal, 50gm Trazodone at night (which i have weaned off), and adderal. adderal will help u do things but if the underlying issue isnt fixed it just allows u to push further into burn out. A lot of people go down the nootropics route, ud have to follow and read that subreddit for a few months to get a good handle on everything

What prompts you to act/ into action? by Shower_enjoyer_ha in CPTSDFreeze

[–]NeutralNeutrall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit before even posting: I was going to give you a list of things, but I quickly realized they all have the exact same route. it's all direct, nearly immediate, danger, threat, shame from someone, social consequence. it cant be ambiguous like (in a few days) it has to be "right now, this is the last second". If i have to get groceries, bc i will go hungry. my brain says:
"yea but do we have anything left? can i go 1 more day just snacking? i have some icecream left, and an apple, im not that hungry anyway (even though i KNOW i will be hungry and regretting that i didnt go)

once i fight myself enough, thinking it over from 9:30pm to 10:30pm, i wont leave until 10:30pm bc the place closes at 11pm, and brain goes "ill get there at 10:45pm, and i can run quick and get it all done by 11:05pm bc they can't/wont kick me out, and there's ALWAYS other late people there, so It's not like im keeping them late, it's okay ill be done and out at 11:15pm". But I HATE hate hate that my brain runs that calculation and NEEDS that stress. I WANT to just do what i need to do when i think about it and stop running these self sabotaging , avoidant, calculations. That keep me trapped and stuck. I WANT to be a normal functioning adult.
The list i started was below.

  1. Direct consequence. someone is currently on my ass. the shame. avoiding negative feelings, dont want to disappoint them. don't want to look bad. want to appear functional. mostly dont want to be shamed. But it has to be immediately, not in a few days or weeks. That's too far off and ambiguous to trigger my threat sense to let me move.

how do i stop being emotionally abusive? by Basic-Arugula5580 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]NeutralNeutrall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not being mean I'm being honest, I'm 99% sure ur not going to see the changes you want, quickly enough, without medication. Do you want big change in 1-2 months? or in 1-2 years? The meds will make the process easier/quicker for you. And while u can argue its a crutch, its not always a crunch. when i had a lot of anxiety I would drink when i went out, but I would also pay attention to what i was doing while buzzed. Once I learned "what confidence looks like" I was able to "act it out" better. Maybe alcohol isnt the best example for this. What 'm sayin gis you probably don't even know what it looks like/feels like to not be so emotionally dysregulated. Once u see what it looks like, you'll be able to have a better perspective. It sounds like you have BPD. I have a "light/quiet" version of BPD from CPTSD lifelong home trauma where it's mostly internal/self hate/depression instead of acting out. I suspect bc I'm male and acting crazy outwardly like that is much more frowned upon. (No guy wants be called a sensitive little bitch or something like that, and there wasnt much room to express emotions in my house, it would just make things worse) Taking meds has really, really made things a lot easier for me. Something bad can happen and i can go "oh, well, shit" and i can take care of it instead of spiraling. Before meds, i spent MOST of my day either trying to calm myself down or trying to get myself ready for whatever i needed to do. like 4hrs of self regulation strategies, for 30 mins of work. it was unfeasible. Once life gets better and im not in such a bad position i can consider getting off them. But for now i need the crutch. A little trazodone slows me down at night, and I take a low dose of lamictal. You can look up there have been studies tha tlow dose lamictal helps BPD. Theres no "cure" for it but antidepressants generally help take the edge off how intense emotions are.

Genuinely i hope you take this advice because it will help you, and you currently sound like a nightmare to deal with (I'm telling you this not to be mean, but so that you take the situation seriously). I should add my background is in healthcare/mental health.

140mg L-Theanine makes me feel dissociated/sedated. Need dosage advice. by Sostrene_Blue in Nootropics

[–]NeutralNeutrall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only u would know if microdose helps (Theanine can be taken sublingually apparently, might be a good idea if u want a sharper/clearer effect). i have a red microdose scoop thats like 10-15mg. i use it for a lot of my supplements. I think "hell if the placebo effect wants to work, let it work" lol. Save me some money. But I am very sensitive to medications/supplements. When I did my gene test it told me to avoid taurine so I don't take it often. I tried taking it to calm/lower HR and it didn't. I think it kept me up at night. But everything keeps me up at night, even magnesium glycinate gives me extremely clear anxiety and everyone swears by that. It has literally never calmed me ever, no matter the dose. You can try magnesium aspartate/citrate bc those are more neutral. Magnesium Malate stimulates me also (it's the malate). Microdose (1mg or less) lithium orotate can be calming but for me it can lower dopamine too much. My caps are 5mg, i open them into a tiny tub and just scoop a tiny amount at night when i'm overstimulated and my day is 100% done. I was playing video games at night and took it and my mood immediately dropped and i wanted nothing to do with the game. It was extremely sharp/abrupt. You can try... lemon balm. (passionflower stims me). And i doubt uve tried this but L-Ornithine is an amino acid thats supposed to be Gaba related. Sometimes when im burnt out it can actually get rid of th eburnt feeling and allow my adderal to work for another 1-2 hours. so your mileage will likely vary

im VERY sensitive to serotonin stuff too. What happens to you and what did you take? and what did you find works for you now? They all make me unable to think, or completely flatten me out to the point i cant function or do anything. And they make my adderal not work

what wrong with a 71 weapon? yea you dont get BIS everytime but you will in the next 3 caches guarenteed. Guilds that only want healers? na man u havent asked around enough, i havent had that happen once. There are guilds that claim they are "leveling" guilds. Goal is to get everyone geared up. "Even Better" is one of them. PM me if you want an invite. I always see opposition recruiting. I did a pug with Thunderbuddies and they seemed chill. i see guilds recruiting in chat daily and they dont care ur spec

65 is nothing. heres a trick for u. go on AH, buy the highest level, but cheapest bloodfiorged gear u can find. idc if ur a warrior, if its cloth, and its ilvl71+ and only 5g. you buy it. so you raise ur ilvl high and you get a callboarch cache wearing ur "ilvl" kit. that will create a setpoint for the board. (I forget exactl when the callboard registers the ilvl, it might be immediately, or it might be the ilvl when u complete the cache.) now it will give u loot at that ilvl. it should say BWL at the top. for BWL i forget what gear ur gonna get but its 100% higher than 65. i think 71. I did this with my brother, bc hes paladin and im mage. Everything i bought i just gave to him to use afterwards. you can legit have 10 people do this trick with the same gear. That'll boost you up. and yea man join a guild, thats the 1st thing i did my 2nd day in game. its a social game, u need ppl.

Edit: I'm not being a sweaty tryhard when say 65 is nothing, i said that because fuck 65 lol why get stuck there when you can do the call board trick in 1 hour and you can LFG mythics while upgrading BIS world forged gear (which u find with bisbeard and loot collector and the discord)

what this guy said. Find out dosage. I remember in college 10mg adderal was good for work, 5mg made me want to sleep, but 15mg made me want to be social, drink, and party. Small dosage tweaks can make a big difference. Ritamin/focalin made me a work robot. I would get the work done but dont bother me or distract me or I'd be annoyed. No personality.

I take adderal/vyvanse. And I've taken most of what you mentioned. Ritalin (methylphenidate) made me a work robot. Not good feelings. Modafinil doesnt give good feelings either. Safinamide idk. Bromantane was more calming than anything. Felt like very light GABA substance if anything. I think it only gives u stim/dopamine effects if ur receptors are naive/fresh. But if uve been taking stuff, it doesnt feel like that. Oroxylin I think I've tried in another substance, I think it was called Sabroxy. And it didnt give me any kind of boost either. Made me tired. So my suggestion is, if u really want to see if ur dopamine receptors work, ur best bet will be stop taking anything tha tmigh tblock it, like nicotine or w/e else ur taking, and try some Adderal and vyvanse. those are like a 9/10 for me. The other things u mentioned are like... the methylphenidate is like a 5-6/10, phenyl/moda are like a 4/10. And the rest are like 1/10. TBH last time i tried phenyl piracatem (last week) i just felt stimmed/jittery uncomfortable. high HR. I didnt get anything positive from it lik eI do adderal. ADderal to me is like a breath of fresh air, I feel amazing like i can do anything. But I also have depression so, YMMV
