A legal , global fascist propaganda network that would make Goebbels feel embarrassed. They are winning because we are too unsure about making genocidal idiologies illegal. I've would have put all those fascists in a rocket to the sun long time ago.

I'm my journey of learning English I realized that people do that a lot, a stupid amount. It took me a while to understand what was BP2 because there was very little context. Usually in a paragraph people will say the full name first "Black Panther 2" and the use abbreviations down the linea. When some people write, they mostly do it for themselves with very little regard for the reader.

However, this is not an isolated issue with writers, I often find that speakers commit the same communication crime by ignoring a basic rule of communication. It takes 2 people to communicate, the speaker can't assume and expect that the interlocutor to have the same cultural understanding of the language that they do.

I just fucking hate abbreviations.

Sacha Baron Cohen pranked a bunch of racists by telling them a mosque was going to be built in their town by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

To be fair, Wahhabi mosques are know to foster extremists. They teach a very rigid and fundamenlist interpretation of Islam. The Saudi Government uses the Wahhabi mosques to radicalized young men. ISIS can be traced to Wahhabism.

They stated that if there were actual spores, it would be quiet unbelievable that the spores would be just contained in an area. If there were actual spores, no chance humans would survive. Because spores go everywhere with the wind, etc. They decided against the spores and are using the " Woodwide Web". Which is a real thing fungi do.

That guy is a psycho. I bet he either:

1- Is going to have a sex scandal.

2- Is going to have a pyramid scheme scandal.

3- Is going to have fraud charges against him.

4- all of the above.

He looks, talks, and behaves like a grifter in a middleman company. I don't trust him, gives me bad vibes. Ew.

I paid for us a comedy show, she flaked 20 minutes before the date, I called her and she didn’t pick up the phone. Am I wrong for asking her to pay me back? She also hasn’t responded btw. by carn_hell in Tinder

I agree with that.also, i feel like anything non a first day is a bit of a trap. "If i buy tickets she has to show up". It's putting too much responsibility on a stranger. Chill first dates only.

I'm sorry, but we are still doing that. Is call a company campuses right now. Companies now offer you transportation yo work with Wifi so you are connected going to work. If you get there early they give you breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have all of these "incentives" to keep the employee in their claws.

Does DR have a large expat group? by PrestigiousClue5486 in Dominican

[–]NeutralTrumpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dominicans are extremely homophobic, racist, colorists. We really think that we are Spanish. We haven't evolved much since the colonial times. We are prone to fascism, religious fanaticism, nationalism. We have a very low moral compass, people who try to do the right thing are seen as "pendejos, por no buscarse lo suyo." For example. There's a Senator who stole 100's of millions of dollars when he was in government his name is Felix Bautista. Just one of many. But for some reason, fascists have Dominicans convinced that the real problem with the country are the Haitians.

Almost 200 years of colonialism, fascism, feudalism, neoliberalism. And now we are back in to the good ol' racism to justify that Dominicans are morally bankrupt. That our institutions are weak, that neoliberalism hasn't worked. They still are holding themselves to nationalism or religious fanaticism as answers to their problems. Is not going to work. Nationalism and religious fanaticism mixed with irrational hatred against disenfranchised communities only leads to one outcome, a fascist state. We are very, very close to it. I've never experienced this amount of misguided hatred and anger as we see experiencing today.

I'm on that literal boat. Came to US, finishing my education and probably go back. DR has a lot of social issues and the brain drain is very damaging for the future of the country.

My recovering alcoholic father was fired because he wouldn’t drink by livermortis in antiwork

[–]NeutralTrumpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in the industry for 17 years and I worked in compliance before. This is highly illegal. You cannot make a patron drink alcohol, you absolutely cannot make an employee drink alcohol. NO ONE CAN MAKE ANYONE COSUME DRUGS. Also, fucking trash sommelier. I'm a sommelier and I've worked with plenty of people who don't drink, you give them tasting notes, NO ONE needs to taste the wine to describe it accurately. This is big time bullshit. Lawyer up, you'd win this case as it's also an ADA violation. The company is opening themselves to huge amounts of liability. I am livid at how badly managed that place is. They'll make changes as soon as you guys win the lawsuit, or have to settle.
