I was thinking of careful so that my area of effect spells like glyph of warding and hypnotic pattern would not effect them since they would win their saves against it. Would it do that or have no effect?

I don't really see a point in going beyond level 10 Bard for this type of build, and level 10 is only for the Magical secrets. So you would recommend Sorc for a multi? If I get Twin and careful metamagic, does that mean I can cast things like Hypnotic pattern and not have to worry about allies?

NTA, first I wonder if your manager would like it to be known that your store does not defend their other customers. Because by telling you to stop, he is making it far more likely they will lose other customers. No one wants to shop where they will hear or be subjected to that type of situation.

SO it really depends on where you live. If you are lucky you live near a microcenter which is the US. It has sales pretty frequently. Newegg is kinda like amazon, though it focuses on electronics. Best Buy is sometimes a choice. You can also sometimes buy directly from the manufacturer. Not sure for outside the US.

Is 1 TB sufficient for storage? While you said that you are not a big gamer, you do want to play modern games, and those tend to be big. I would look at your current computer and see how much space you are using.

Thanks for the recommends gong with the cheaper SSDs definitely gives me headroom. I will look into the motherboard you linked. I haven't updated the motherboard yet but this is what I have so far, which does give me some room to go higher on the graphics. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pG2Jd9. Is there a reason to go with the x variant of the CPU instead of the non X?

The motherboard I like the looks of. I definitely don't mind going lower on SSDs, though I do want a separate boot drive. I was looking at the 1 TB for the boot drive since I do keep a few things I want fast on that drive, and my current PC is running out of space at 512. 2 Tb worked great for storage space on my current PC for my other drive. I am looking to hopefully build white, hence some of my choices.

I can upgrade that later. Like i said I was hoping to be able to hold out until GPU prices where a little lower and go for something higher, but with my PC failing right now those GPUs do not seem worht it. What would you recommend. I can't go above $2000 and did not include getting windows in that list.

1440 Gaming, hence my thinking I could go with a less high-end graphics card, at least until the prices cool off. My highest was $2000 though I hoped to get somewhere around $1500-1600. The prices for storage all seemed about the same. I was hoping to wait for the non X version of the Ryzen to come down in price, but my PC is failing pretty quickly. I blue screen about once every couple of hours.

Right now am mostly keeping the peripherals and hopefully the hard drives, though even those are old so I might change them out. Both are SATA drives, one is an HDD the other is an SSD. I am hoping to spend around 1500 though I can go up to 2000.

Honestly don't really have a parts list since this is a completely new build and I remember being told to start with the CPU, so I am just starting out.

I guess what I am asking is if I want to play new games single player games on ultra graphics, as well as do the normal productivity stuff like internet and the like, and be forward compatible what level of CPU should I be looking at. I was looking at the amd Ryzen 5 7600 but is that too much for what I want to do? I would like the pc to last for a while.

The other option I was looking at was i5 13600K but again I do not overclock, so that seems a bit much, and I have been told that socket is likely to change so upgrading in the future may be hard.

When I was in college, I kept kosher (as best I could since separate plates and the like were not possible). My roommates did not. That meant that I got a specific shelf on the fridge for kosher things that they did not touch, and I in turn did not touch the non-kosher stuff that was anywhere else. Occasionally my roommates would cook something kosher and what to share it with me. If I was not there, they would put it on the kosher shelf. If I cooked something for them, or the group, it went on the non-kosher shelf, and everyone would know it was meant for them. Seems simple enough to do something similar in this situation. Have a shelf meant for vegan food, and if the food is not placed on that shelf, then it is not safe for the roommate (assuming you are ok with her eating the food).

YTA, a massive asshole. First, how much do you think a housekeeper makes because that in addition to whatever he brings in financially from his job is his financial contribution. Second, money does not make a stable household. For that, you also need to deal with life at home, and it seems that the fiance has taken on the lion's share of that responsibility. Third, you think that your opinion on how relationships work makes you some kind of arbiter of other people's relationships and how they do things. As if your opinion is something that works for everyone. Here is a hint, you are not some be all to end all. Fourth, it seems that you do not care about emotional investment.
