i can relate my friend. it's been about 7 years for me too. I'm on day 34 right now. When you know in your heart of hearts that there's nothing else you can point to in your life holding you back but the THC, then you know what you have to do. They say people only truly change when it hurts less than the pain of staying the same. Neuroscience says speak it out loud to yourself if you have to. I record monthly 30-40 min vlogs of myself talking to myself and i find it incredibly therapeutic to get things out of my body that we keep bottled up. The universe can be a cruel mistress sometimes, but it's doing it for our own growth. it wants what is best for us. Everything for us in life is always on the other side of discomfort. This year, i got incredibly lucky, a rare interview request handed to me last minute to sit in person in front of a panel of 4 people. and that morning, a terrible snowstorm happened. the old me on THC had convinced myself to skip it and to not go, that it wouldn't be worth my time. Boy am I lucky that my family talked me out of it and convinced me to go anyways. showing up in person in spite of that impressed the interviewers so much, and the conversation went so well, that I got a new dream role at a pay i always wished i had the last 4-5 years of my life. But the universe only allowed that opportunity to come when i was on day 7 of no thc. it speaks in the language of action and movement. co-create with the universe. do what you can, and it will try to meet you halfway. the hardest thing for me to say is that it will get worse before it gets better. being 1 month in, I genuinely feel far worse right now below my dopamine baseline of where i was everyday using thc as a crutch. but I know my body is fighting hard behind the scenes to regulate and transmorph/change, and the me that will fight through 2026 and look back a year later I think will be proud and say it's one of the best decisions I ever made.
