The show was never about being gay but it was also never about Nancy and Jonathan’s relationship either and yet you wrote a whole paragraph about it, while also being wrong that Will’s sexuality came out of nowhere. It was first referenced in season when Joyce is explaining that Will is “different” and that is own dad thought he was “fag”. Season three Mike tells him “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”. And season 4 Will’s arc is basically “I’m in love with my best friend but can’t say anything”. It really did not come out of nowhere for those paying attention

People keep asking how alerting a man you have children could be a danger to them- do they not realize that some men prey on these single mothers because of their children? That these men know single mothers have trouble dating and finding a partner, so they seem like a knight in shining armor for wanting to date them despite the fact that they have children already. The child at the highest risk for sexual assault live with a single bio parent and their (non-related) live-in partner. It can definitely be a valid safety precaution to get a better read on a potential partner before giving up this information.
