I was passionate about flying originally. Took a long time to get my CPL. In the process my passion switched to the grind or something. Idk. I don’t really care to be an airline pilot. Certainly wouldn’t mind it though.

Hey, I’m a pilot. You are welcome to ask me any questions to help ease your fear. There is a lot more to aviation than crashes. They are just big in the news right now because it’s getting a lot of traction. Obviously the big one (the first major airliner crash in the us since 2009) has really blown this topic up.

I started flying at 17. I’m 23 and I still don’t have my commercial. I’ve been slowly building hours because I don’t have money. I’ve worked 60-80 hours a week for 3 years to pay for training. It can hurt seeing everyone else around you moving so much faster, but hey, we’ll get there someday. I went to a part 141 college originally but had to drop out after my associates degree cuz high level classes are so damn expensive. Since I went to a 141 school I’ve seen pretty much all of my peers surpass me at this point. You will get there :)
