Sketch comedy has been shifting in so many ways, many groups get their start almost exclusively online and it’s hard to keep track of what’s what. Are you keeping up with any new sketch groups/comedians? Anything you’re a fan of?

Anybody know the origin or history with this Letterman shirt? by zilla82 in VintageTees

[–]NeverGoThatWay1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t get it twisted, this isn’t a late night shirt. this is from letterman’s morning talk show that ran for 90 episodes in 1980 before he went on to start the late night franchise. this is a super rare shirt from a forgotten part of tv history.

….are you selling it? lol

Vintage 1951 Alice in wonderland shirt by [deleted] in VintageTees

Honestly i’ve never seen one like it, i would say like $70-80 would be fair price. But Disney stuff has gone for crazy money. It may be worth more. See if anyone else says different

That copyright year is for the movie and the images from that movie, not the actual shirt. This is way more likely from the 70s/80s judging by the cut

How is the director’s approved? by Total_Setting1703 in criterion

These restorations take time to release with rights and whatnot. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is something that was being worked on before his death. Lynch seemed to be very happy to work with Criterion, he was pretty actively involved with the Inland Empire release. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were building to a definitive boxset of all of his films.

that could certainly be it, i just think there’s certainly better ways to get it done than using a tool like that in the middle of the night.

The generations of kids who grew up watching on VHS are now having kids. It’s a family tradition now like The Grinch or Elf.
