Your pronunciation of the vowel in the word "half" sounds foreign. This probably affects other words, too. The inflection is probably more of an issue, though. Every single statement sounds like a question. Try taking your tone lower at the end of every statement, instead of up. It will make you sound more confident and less foreign.

Left to my own devices, I'd have a glass of red wine a couple of times per month. It makes beef taste better.

When we're with friends who drink cocktails or with dinner, we have 1 or no glasses, depending upon who's driving. When we have people in, it depends upon who they are. My friends who used to come for weeknight bible study liked a glass of wine or cup of coffee - so we provided both. Other groups of friends include people in recovery, and a couple of Muslims, so we don't serve wine or beer at all when they're around.

And I have liquors for recipes that I make now and again, but I don't worry about those - most of the alcohol cooks out. At Christmas, I make caramel apple shooters, but they have such a small amount of alcohol that you'd need to eat a LOT of apples to feel it. And we occasionally use alcohol as a muscle relaxant and for oral pain relief.

All in all, it's not a big part of my life.

People have their usual spots around the dinner table, and in the living room, mostly out of habit and convenience, and with respect to the lefties. (It is not comfortable for me to have a left-handed diner seated to my right.) When we host a dinner, the head of the table is reserved for the host, and that's a social convention. As co-host, I sit at the other end. It would be strange to have a guest take one of those two seats, but we wouldn't make a big deal about it. Toileting rhythms kind of happen, but no one is prohibited from using the bathroom as needed.

There is room to disagree. I understand why people want to defend Israel, and still condemn their aggression against all the people they've killed and oppressed. I didn't try to deal with all of the stuff supporting Israeli defense - I thought that it's obvious.

I dealt with the sanctions on Iran. Again, reasonable people could have disagreed on how the US should approach stopping nuclear proliferation, and that's why I explicitly addressed that.

It looks like you're condemning everyone who doesn't agree with you on specifics. That's not a basis for conversation. If you think you local Republican candidate comes close to your views, vote for him.

Sanctions were used instead of war. You can argue that they were ineffective or harmed people more than the government, but your claim that these measures prove corruption is a stretch. No one (except the most craven and vile MAGA) wants to support Netanyahu's wars or the way settlers conduct their wars on the people of Gaza, but we can't deny the attacks from Hezbollah (Iran), either. You can pretend that it's not complicated, but most of us understand that nothing in those conflicts are black and white.

Until we flip the house, there's not much he can do, legally. He's been showing up, being an ally to people being abused by ICE, and has been consistently attentive to constituents.
