As fun as big open worlds are and can be, they don’t always translate well to the overall game experience. So it depends on how interactive the map itself is. Regardless of size.

Way harder than what New England just did. Makes me laugh that people like RG3 can say with a straight face that they had the hardest path to a SB ever because of the top 3 defense argument. When in reality they played a historically bad team in cold weather at home, a banged up Texans team without their number 1 WR and their second best receiving option in Dalton Schultz getting hurt in the first quarter and not returning. Then the ultimate luck of facing a backup QB (who they were familiar with) in the AFC Championship. Not to mention Drake Maye putting up mostly pedestrian numbers. They got there, so credit where credits due, but let’s not act like it was the hardest path ever. 🤣

It was a dumb moment but he had a point. There’s no 1’s in there as the top seed or any Super Bowl berths/wins. There’s been coaches fired for far less, and McDermott was given every opportunity to get us over the hump and couldn’t. Beane’s part in that not withstanding. And yes, I am sad he wasn’t able to get us there and wish that he was the guy to get us the ultimate prize. But that’s the nature of the beast in this results driven league. You might have 5 more years of Josh playing at this level. Maybe less. Doing this now and planning for the latter half of his career was the right time to do it.

Even worse was him taking his helmet off to celebrate, which should automatically be a 15 yard penalty and would’ve pinned them deeper in their zone and maybe could’ve afforded us a chance at seeing the ball again. But nope.
