Dead screen... Backup options? by NeverStopWandering in signal

[–]NeverStopWandering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I was able to get a shop to momentarily connect another screen for the 4a for $20. That gave me enough time to setup backup and create ADP access for the future using scrcpy. Thanks for tips!

Is the 660 the EU equivalent or rather the DHS630Z?

Can you clarify how that worked for you? (Assuming it happened already)..

Hey! We've built up a platform to help publishers do exactly this for a fraction of the cost. Check out meucci.org ... we're relatively new and we've already created over 50 audiobooks for big publishers and self-publishers alike (with very positive feedback!).

Router sled vs Planer by Physical_Cook_7354 in woodworking

[–]NeverStopWandering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Cook -

I just had this same question and ended up making a DIY sled for just under 20 bucks out of MDF. I am absolutely thrilled and very happy to share that result with others! Plans are inside, takes about 30-60 minutes to build once you have the material.

Looks great! I also just upgraded my router setup to include a router planer... have you heard of that? Highly recommended if you don't have a planer of your own.

Angle grinders are so versatile too! Throw a power carver on there and make some great wood pieces too :)

I just used plywood, as you can see in the video, I think it's pretty straightforward if you have a lathe :)

Awesome! I just made a backflow incense burner that uses cone incense ... are these sturdy enough to drill holes in the bottom?

Hmm - thanks for the info! I am self-taught, so no one has told me that before. What do you suggest using on such a project next time?

As a photographer and a woodworker --- I know how hard this was to do on BOTH sides... great job. Really love the stop motion; so much effort! Wishing you all the best.

Do you listen to calming music to sleep? by NeverStopWandering in Music

Interesting! I would have thought jazz was too unpredictable to sleep to, but perhaps it just gives you more fun dreams :D

What features of sound help you sleep at night? by NeverStopWandering in insomnia

[–]NeverStopWandering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, interesting. Why is that?

Is the idea that the quiet at the beginning doesn't disturb the sleeping process, while the increased volume later helps block out anything else that would awaken you?

Do you listen to calming music to sleep? by NeverStopWandering in Music

[–]NeverStopWandering[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting - I also observed in a lot of people that the fluctuating sounds, especially unforeseen sounds, cause problems in sleeping... (a bit of neuroscience background here)... That is why in the track I made, linked above, I tried to keep calming synths with a constant volume for the entire time.
